A 2025 GOODBYE
2025 for us was defined by few things more than family. Our Green Door family grew all year, with our wonderful Little Shop cast and crew, with beautiful newborns, with fabulous weddings, and with the return of some beloved old friends from companies past.
In a lot of ways, this year was incredibly lucky, and full of love. For many of us, though, we head into 2026 with our chosen family missing a certain bright, loud, chaotic, funny, and endlessly loving force of nature.
Our tribute to Zoë in the Little Shop programme was two whole pages long, and still didn't feel like enough. We could truly write forever, and never feel like we've done her beautiful chaos, her boundless compassion, or her fearless sense of adventure any amount of justice. So this post is not about saying goodbye to her. Instead, we're saying goodbye to the year we lost another friend, the year the grief first hit us, all the most negative parts of losing her, and saying hello to a joyful future of her favourite things: laughing, dancing, telling stories, and being silly, with the ever-growing chosen family she helped build.
From everyone here at Green Door, no matter how complicated your celebrations may be by any bad, we hope you can take the good of 2025 with you. We wish you a very happy new year, all the chosen family you could ever have room for, and a 2026 with absent friends in your heart.
