After our busiest summer ever for school uniform referrals, our stock of filled pencil cases was completely depleted!

We’re so grateful to Katy for donating all of these colouring pencils, which will allow us to make up more pencil cases ready for future referrals. 🥰

At the start of school term, we provide children with a brand-new school bag, water bottle, PE kit and filled pencil case, alongside all of their required uniform items. 🎒📚✏️

Your support helps us make sure children have everything they need to start school feeling prepared and included. 💙

Our Bag for Life Appeal has had a slower response than we’d hoped, and we’re now down to our last 10 bags. 😟

We use these to pack up clothing and essentials for families referred to us, and we urgently need more ready for next week’s referrals.

If you have any clean, reusable bags sitting at home that you no longer need, we’d be incredibly grateful if you could donate them to us 💙

We would like to say a huge thanks to Katy, the Community Champion at Cumbernauld Extra In The Community, for coming to our rescue last week with baby vests (9–12 months), girls’ clothing (2–3 years) and school shirts, when our boxes were empty and referrals were waiting!

Also, a massive thank you to their wonderful customers for donating this crate load of brand‑new uniform items - such perfect timing during one of our busiest weeks of the year!

🌟 July Impact Update 🌟

July was an incredibly busy month for us - here’s what your support helped us achieve:

🧒 We've supported 252 children across our services this month.

♻️ Thanks to our community’s amazing response to our donations appeal, we received 552kg of textiles and over 150kg of pre‑loved baby equipment saved from landfill — including cots, prams and Moses baskets.

🫶 Our wonderful volunteers gave 91 hours of their time to help sort donations, prepare referrals and keep everything running smoothly, including the brilliant team from Pitreavie Packaging, who supported us across a full week.

🎒 Our School Uniform Giveaway was a great success, with over 300 items gifted to local families.

Our School Uniform Bank had its busiest July ever, providing almost 80 uniform referral packs to children who needed them. We expect demand to stay just as high right up until schools return in mid‑August.

💜 Every item donated, every hour volunteered, and every referral processed makes a real difference.

School clothing grant is paid by your local council to help you buy your child's school clothing and shoes.

You need to apply for the grant through your local council.

The payment is not made automatically. Even if you've received a school clothing grant before, you must submit a new application each time you want to apply.

Check your local council's website to see when you can apply for the grant. Most councils accept applications from July until the end of March.

We’re delighted to share that in less than 2 months since our last pick‑up, your collection tin has been counted and has raised an amazing £119.36!
