LEAP Sports Scotland LEAP Sports Scotland aims to increase the visibility and participation of le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex people in Scottish sport.

LEAP - Leadership, Equality and Active Participation - Sports Scotland is committed to breaking down social and personal barriers which discourage LGBTI people across the country from participating in Scottish sports. We work with sports groups and various community partners from all across Scotland to pursue our objectives. Over 2000 people attended 107 events delivered by 60 partners across Scotland during this year’s Festival Fortnight. We’ve received some amazing feedback about how the Festival helped to improve LGBTIQ+ people’s mental and physical health. DM if you’d like to partner with us next year! LGBTIQ+ Wellbeing and Mentorship Programme Engagement Event

LEAP Sports and Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH) are partnering with the view of running a 12 month pilot wellbeing and mentorship programme. 

We are running an engagement event as part of during the Commonwealth Games. We want to gather views from members of the LGBTIQ+ community who work or aspire to work in the sports sector, to help develop what the programme might look like.

During Pride House we will be bringing together climate action experts and our community of LGBTIQ+ sports activists to explore climate action and community sport.

A big thank you to everyone who has been a part of Festival Fortnight 2026!

It has been another amazing year with over 100 events. We have loved seeing your photos and the feedback from participants we have received has been extremely positive. We thank all our delivery partners and clubs for their hard work and for delivering such great events and thank you to everyone who attended, we hope you had fun!

See you next year for Festival Fortnight 2027!
