I’ve always loved selling, how very un-Scottish of me! I’ve always been curious about how to sell better. Selling is good. Especially when you have what people want to buy. Which we do. I wanted & want CEC to grow.
But I was tired & wanted an easy solution, and tbh I was super curious as to how all these people that were selling places and apparently making money actually do it. Do they really do it?
So I bought a course, under £30. A series of templates, tested method, real track record. I followed it to the letter.
It completely missed.
Not because Design Your Story is a bad idea. It’s not. It’s brilliant & you lot want to do it. Not because the templates were bad. They made sense and were fine. But….
The approach was all wrong. Not the offer.
My audience are creative freelancers & business owners, you lot, who are tired of being “sold” to. You can smell a template a mile off. You are not waiting for a funnel. 🤣
But I was and am tired. I’m tired of being ‘on’ all the time & i am tired of having cancer. However, it’s the connection with you lot that keeps me going. Knowing what you do & sharing it. Supporting it. Championing it. So I’m going back to what works: genuine real conversations, honest writing, showing up as a person. That’s what gets me out of bed each day. I’m not knocking people that “sell” courses by selling courses. That’s not us. And as I saw often creatives are the canaries in the coal mine. What we do first others follow. And we’ve had enough of the hustle. We want opportunities & community. ❤️
