🔶 Gas Safety Awareness Week | 14-20 September 2026

At Glasgow West, your safety is our priority. As part of Gas Safety Awareness Week, we're sharing some simple reminders to help keep you and your household safe.

✅ Annual Gas Safety Checks
Please make sure we can access your home for your annual gas safety check and appliance servicing.

✅ Carbon Monoxide Alarms
Test your alarm regularly and let us know if it isn't working.

Know the signs of carbon monoxide poisoning:
• Headaches
• Dizziness
• Nausea
• Collapse or loss of consciousness

If you experience these symptoms, seek medical advice immediately.

Know the signs of a gas leak:
• A strong sulphur or 'rotten egg' smell
• Hissing sounds near gas pipes
• Gas appliances unexpectedly cutting out

🚨 If you suspect a gas leak:
• Call SGN immediately on 0800 111 999
• Do not smoke or use electrical switches, as this could create a spark

A few simple checks can help keep you, your family and your neighbours safe.

Over the last three years, we've been listening to what matters most to our tenants through our community engagement events and developing action plans in response to the feedback received.

To help keep tenants informed, we've also started publishing "You Said, We Did" updates, which show the actions we've taken and the improvements we've made as a result of your comments and suggestions.

These updates show the changes we've made, the improvements we've delivered, and the actions we're taking as a result of tenant feedback.

You can view all of our You Said, We Did reports and action plans here:

At our Annual Tenant’s Conference in January 2024, tenants told us they wanted more informal opportunities to speak directly with senior staff, closer to home and focused on the issues that matter most in their own communities.

You Asked, We Listened: Changes to Our Senior Staff Surgeries

Following tenant feedback, we've refreshed our Senior Staff Surgeries.
Instead of an open Q&A session, tenants can now book a 10-minute one-to-one appointment with a member of our senior team to discuss matters important to you.

📅 Two events remaining
🕕 Appointments available between 6.00pm and 7.30pm
📞 Advance booking required

We'll match you with the most appropriate Director based on the topic you'd like to discuss.
