Calling all CURRENT S5 students at participating schools. If you’re staying on for S6, this could be an opportunity for you.

Our applications are now open for the award starting in August. Our team are working their way around the schools, sharing a bit more detail about what exactly is involved in The Mark Scott Award, and how to apply.

Signs of nature last weekend on one of our community projects 🌿🐦‍⬛

The team completed a trash count & litter pick using resources from .
lovenature will be back on Saturday 7th March. We’ll run another community litter pick, and also have some nature art workshops, a gruffalo scavenger hunt and more! Come and join us for a day of nature connection.

Data about our collection will be collated and used to help campaign and lobby for better waste management and more responsiblility for the end destination of products.

Our .thewild project finished off last week with 3 days of teaching outdoor skills to S3 girls.

46 younger girls spent the day with the sixth year team, learning first aid, self defence, tent building, and navigation skills. They learnt what to pack for a hike & and enjoyed some hot chocolate from a camping stove too.

Well done to the team for adapting to very cold and windy weather!

Your Help Needed - Mark Scott Leadership for Life Award under funding threat

Dear Alumni,

We are looking for your help.
We have recently learned that the Scottish Government funding we receive for the delivery of the Mark Scott Leadership for Life Award has been cut, once again, from April 2026. In the past two years, that funding has been cut by more than 50% from £75,000 to £30,000 allocated for the 26-27 programme.

The funding is crucial to the continuation of the programme and we are asking those closest to the programme to support us in lobbying MSPs.

As alumni, I would be very grateful if you would take 5 minutes to write to your constituent MSP for the school you attended with details of when you completed the Award, what school you attended, and what you feel you gained from taking part.

You can also appeal directly to the First Minister at his email [email protected].

Thank you in advance for all your help.The Award has been available to all participating schools for the last 28 years and we hope that it will continue to be available to young people for the foreseeable future.
