Like many people, we've been deeply saddened by the images coming out of Glasgow city centre and Belfast this morning.
Many people in our cities will be feeling anxious, unwelcome, or unsafe today. To all those affected, please know that you are not alone.
Rather than sharing more images of division, we wanted to share this short video from our Glasgow 850 Interfaith Sponsored Walk. It reminds us of the Glasgow we know and love: a city where people of different faiths, beliefs, cultures and backgrounds come together in friendship, solidarity and mutual respect; where people are valued regardless of where they were born, the colour of their skin, their religion, or their background.
As we mark our tenth anniversary this year, we are reflecting on a decade spent helping to build a city where everyone belongs. A city that chooses neighbourliness over suspicion, friendship over fear, and solidarity over division.
That Glasgow is real too. We see it every day in our communities, our places of worship, our schools, our neighbourhoods, and in the countless acts of kindness and welcome that rarely make the headlines.
Today, and every day, we stand with all those who call Glasgow home.
