Nice running in what felt like a blazing inferno this morning 🥵
Easily the hottest of the year so far and one of the hardest but another one dusted thanks to a couple water stops (although the McDonald’s pull was strong) ☀️

Budapest Night Half Marathon next weekend which also coincides with number 27, the halfway point!!
Looking forward to knowing I have more running behind me than in front! 🏃‍♂️

First evening half in a while and only few days since the last one but with a trip to Benidorm on Thursday it’s now or never for this week…😬

Very windy run to work this morning and 24th half complete - not an early runner at all but no excuses getting in those 1’s and 2’s for James Place 🏃‍♂️

Legs starting to feel heavy this past week and a few niggles so kept this one slower than previous weeks - head down and move forward 🏃‍♂️

Heat towards the end made it more difficult but can’t complain as it means the sun is shining ☀️

No race this weekend, but back to the grind along the coast 🏃‍♂️

Joined by Dan Goals again for Half Marathon #22! Doing it in that heat makes me miss the winter months with the rain, snow and frozen paths…😅

Halfway mark of the challenge slowly creeping up as number 21 is complete, 3 races in as many weeks and just shy of the fundraising target for

Tricky route with plenty of hills, twists and turns but happy that’s done with the quickest half of the year so far. Budapest half at the end of June but until then it’s around the doors 🏃‍♂️

Difficult route, lots of ups and downs but atmosphere was quality - got me through some tough moments! Half Marathon number 20 and felt like it today. Legs felt heavy but can’t complain with that time.

Special one as Leeds was a city Sam lived in briefly some years ago so felt a bit closer. Although I didn’t do the full Rob Burrows Marathon, seeing so many people out ‘running for a mate’ encapsulated what this challenge is about 🖤🤍

Onto Sunderland next week, will do that quick and get out as soon as possible…

A very wet Newcastle - Gateshead Half Marathon ran partly with 🏃 🏃‍♀️ with some special people at the end 🖤🤍
No training runs this week with niggles in my hip and back so happy to get under 2 hours, and more importantly over £1000 now raised for the amazing !!

Move onto Leeds Half Marathon next week for number 20!

Well it was no London but dragging myself around Tyne & Wear today was difficult for Half Marathon number 18 of the challenge, exactly 7 days after Manchester Marathon.

Just want to thank everyone for the support so far. The total is at just under £1000, and well on the way to smashing the target of £1350.

Physically I was in a difficult place today, but times like that will always be made easier by remembering the WHY? Every step, every km, every mile, every half marathon is for Sam and to raise money for continuing Sam’s legacy and helping men in mental health crisis.

Next week I’ll be completing the Newcastle - Gateshead Half, running the first 10k with Sam’s Aunty so really looking forward to getting back onto a starting line (and definitely a finish line!).

From the bottom of my heart thank you to everyone who has supported Run for Sam since the start of the year. Your support helps continue Sam’s legacy.

Providing that help and support to those that need it the most, with every like, share or £1 raised, we are a small step closer to eradicating this pandemic.

Personally, that’s my first marathon boxed off and 16/17 of my yearly challenge…not looking forward to #18 next week😬 A proper prize at the end as well!
