The Well Multi-Cultural Resource Centre Information & Advice for the diverse communities of Glasgow's Southside

The Well supports ethnic minority communities in the greater Govanhill area of Glasgow through our Advice Centre and friendship building activities. Initially set up by the Church of Scotland in 1994 as an information and advice centre for the local Asian communities, The Well became an independent charity in 2011. Working with issues linked to poverty, social isolation, limited English language s

Expecting everyone to shift centuries of paper-based communication into a digital inbox in less than a 30 year window is asking a lot.

Yet, mandatory email fields on official forms are increasingly turning a simple contact detail into a gatekeeper to support.

From digital voids caused by minor typos to the reality of digital overwhelm, our latest blog explores why digital-only systems can hinder rather than hel

Victoria Road looks like a straight line down to the city centre, but when you look from the park, those central road markings aren't exactly straight.

It’s a pretty accurate visual for how some official administrative processes go. You start off expecting a simple, straightforward path and then you end up taking a slight zig-zag to get where you're going.

A quiet reminder that when things feel complicated or wonky, it’s not always because someone did something wrong. Sometimes the system was just drawn that way.

Calling local shop owners and business partners in Govanhill & Southside!

A local business owner recently reached out to ask for one of our collection tins to put on their counter and we’d love to get a few more out into the neighbourhood!

If you run a local shop, cafe, or business and have a small spot on your counter for a collection box, you’d be helping us keep our advice and support services free and open to everyone in our community.

Drop us a message here or pop into The Well if you’d be up for holding a tin for us. Every bit of local support makes a massive difference! 🧡
