On 14th August 1974, Turkey launched the second wave of its brutal and illegal invasion of Cyprus. By 16th August, the Turkish military had advanced to occupy 36% of the island, displacing over 200,000 Cypriots. Turkey continues to occupy the same territory to this day.

52 years on, Famagusta, Morphou, our occupied towns and villages, the displaced, our fallen and our missing persons remind us: we do not forget 🇨🇾🕊️
