Happy Independence Day, Cyprus | Χρόνια πολλά, Κύπρος 🇨🇾
Today, we remember the generations of Cypriots who stood up for their right to self-determination and freedom from British colonial rule, and honour those who made sacrifices in the struggle for liberation.
As we celebrate 66 years of independence, we recognise that our struggle is not over. Our island remains divided, and the Cypriot people continue to live with the consequences of the ongoing illegal Turkish occupation.
As young Cypriots across the diaspora, we proudly carry Cyprus in our hearts, keeping our history, culture and heritage alive and passing them on to future generations 🤍
Our flag represents unity, peace and hope for a future without division. We reaffirm our commitment to a free and united Cyprus 🇨🇾
