This Wednesday we will have a look at the new road safety strategy. Come along to Thorntree halls, 37 Main St, Thornliebank, Glasgow G46 7SF @ 7:30pm for more detail on how it will affect drivers over 70, and more. Tea, coffee and biscuits for everyone.

We've launched a new Road Safety Strategy, aiming to cut deaths and serious injuries on Britain’s roads by 65% by 2035.

Key points include:
- tougher action on drink driving
- minimum learning periods for learner drivers
- mandatory eye tests for older drivers

We're committed to doing what it takes to save thousands of lives and ease pressure on the NHS.

Our new Road Safety Strategy is a major step towards safer roads and stronger communities.

If you're celebrating tonight, make sure it's a night to remember for the right reason.

Drugs can stay in your system for hours - even days, and can be detected by a simple roadside drug test.

02/01/2026

Alcohol takes a long time to leave your system, so you could still be over the limit the morning after.

Real roads don't reset.

Don't risk it - plan ahead and choose a safe way home.

SPEED LIMITS ARE CHANGING. Are you in favor or against it?

The Scottish Government wants to lower the speed limit from 60 to 50 mph.

This consultation invites feedback on proposals to lower the national speed limit on single carriageway roads from 60 mph to 50 mph and to increase speed limits for goods vehicles exceeding 7.5 tonnes on single carriageways from 40 mph to 50 mph and dual carriageways from 50 mph to 60 mph
