Congratulations from Girls' Brigade Scotland to Linda Paterson who was commissioned on Sunday 7 June at Overtown Parish Church. Linda will also take on the role of Leader-in-Charge at our newest company, 1st Overtown, which will open on 1 September 2026. Linda and her team look forward to welcoming new members and we wish them and their Chaplain, Rev Lorna McDougall, every blessing as they start out on their GB journey.

Great to hear from Dawn Westwood, the very proud Chaplain of 1st Boghall Company. Dawn has shared with us that she’s “Super proud of 1st Boghall tonight winning the Jim Walker Memorial Award as part of Bathgate procession for 65 years of community service ❤️” Well done to girls and Leaders on winning this award.

A little bird has contacted Girls' Brigade Scotland to share with us that Wendy Tait, Captain of 1st Port Glasgow Girls' Brigade is a finalist in the volunteer legacy category of the Community Champion Awards. This is such a great nomination for the Captain of the oldest company in the world. Wendy gives tirelessly of her time and talents for Girls' Brigade at local level. Last night Girls Brigade Glasgow held their annual review in the City Chambers. A wonderful night to celebrate the achievement of girls throughout the Division. Also a night to acknowledge the wonderful service given by Leaders. Girls' Brigade Scotland congratulates every one of them but, in particular we want to thank Brenda Diamond for all the hard work she has done over many years as Divisional Coordinator and as Commissioner for 6 years before that. Brenda has given exceptional service over many, many years and we wish her every blessing in the future.

As we celebrate Volunteers' Week, it is great to see Hamilton & Lanark Division Leaders after their AGM on Saturday morning. The work done by all Girls' Brigade Scotland volunteers is greatly appreciated and essential for companies to operate smoothly. Well done to all GB Volunteers!
