📢Join Us Next Week on Wednesday The 4th Of February For Our Latest Event!

GCCAN are collaborating with Glasgow City Council to offer an in-person, interactive consultation on Glasgow’s Climate Plan.

📅 Wednesday, 4th February
🕙 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
📍 26 Civic Street, Glasgow, G4 9RH

The session will run until 12pm and then lunch will be provided with an opportunity to connect informally with friends and colleagues until 1pm.

The session will be a mix of information sharing through presentations with group activities focussing on specific areas of the plan to allow for discussion, feedback and questions. Glasgow City Council’s Sustainability Team will be on hand to lead the discussion and answer questions..

As COP30 draws to a close and the world’s media considers the global impact, it’s important to remember the people and communities affected by the climate crisis and our role in driving change. It was great to see so many friends and colleagues take to the streets in Glasgow for the climate march organised by Friends of the Earth Scotland to remind those in power that our voices matter.

We’re also delighted that our good friend Andrew from Verture was able to attend part of the conference. He’s been promoting the amazing work happening in Scotland and using his time there to learn about different approached across the world, particularly how communities are adapting to the changes already happening. We’ll be working with Andrew when he’s back to bring some of those stories to our network to explore how they might inspire us in Glasgow. We were invited by colleagues to join a terrarium workshop at the amazing Glasgow Plant Mama!

The knowledge these guys have about nature, plants and their properties are insane. It was so interesting to hear about their background and their plans for the future and it's a wonderful reminder of the wealth of knowledge, skills and passion we have in our city.

I've already found the perfect spot for my terrarium.🪴
