A huge congratulations to 2018 Saltire Scholar Emily Youngs, who has won the Create Change Challenge at the 2026 Converge Awards! 👏

Emily took home £30,000 for WombWise | Endo & PMOS, the women’s health startup she founded to help tackle the long delays many women face in receiving an endometriosis diagnosis.

WombWise uses data from consumer wearables to identify early indicators of risk, helping women access information they can take to clinicians and potentially begin conversations about diagnosis sooner.

Emily completed an AI Engineering internship with Siris Medical in San Francisco through the Saltire Scholars Programme, and it’s fantastic to see what she has gone on to achieve since.

Congratulations to Emily and WombWise on this incredible achievement. We can’t wait to see what comes next!

Four Saltire Scholar Alumni got the chance to learn directly from the entrepreneurs and engineers behind Longbow, the British automotive company developing a new generation of lightweight electric supercars. ⚡️

The opportunity came thanks to Daniel Davey and Mark Tapscott, Co-Founders of Longbow, who generously donated four VIP tickets to thecalling.scot, to Saltire Scholar Alumni with interests in engineering and entrepreneurship.

At The Calling, Aidan, Colin, Matthew, all 2026 Saltire Scholars, and Vivian, a 2023 Saltire Scholar, spent the day with CEO Daniel and Simon Whittock, VP of Engineering. They heard first-hand about their entrepreneurial journey, their engineering backgrounds and what it takes to turn an ambitious idea into reality.

Thanks to Longbow, they also joined 3,000 people at the SEC Armadillo for The Calling, Scotland’s Leadership Summit, hearing from speakers including Sir Chris Hoy, Scott Meenagh, Dr Jo Salter MBE MBA and Sir Peter Vardy as part of a day exploring what it means to lead yourself, lead others and lead change.

A huge thank you to Daniel and Mark for making this opportunity possible, to Daniel and Simon for sharing their time and experience with our alumni.

Last night, we brought an unforgettable summer for our 2026 Saltire Scholars to a close! 🎓🎉

Our annual Return Reception brought everyone back together after an exciting few months to catch up, reconnect and hear about the projects our Scholars have delivered, the experience they’ve gained and the connections they’ve made during their internships across Scotland, the UK and internationally.

A huge thank you to 2025 Saltire Scholar Peter McAdoo for joining us and sharing how his internship with Innovative Partners UK became a stepping stone to further opportunities with the company.

A special thank you to our Host Company and University partners who could join us on the evening.

Most importantly, thank you to our 2026 Saltire Scholars for making this such a memorable summer. It was fantastic to have so many of you back together and celebrate everything you’ve accomplished.

A summer to be proud of! Congratulations, Class of 2026. 🥳🍾
