We have been very bad at taking photos in the garden the last few weeks!

But here is one of us from last week when we replaced one of our old raised beds with some new barrels.

Winter if often the time that we are doing the hardest work, shovelling and wheelbarrowing soil around. It keeps us warm anyway! 🏋‍♀

We have been trying some new and interesting things at the Pondy Pantry this week. Some heritage purple tomatoes and mango stein! Both were delicious 😋

Blackhill Community Farm and Blackhills Growing Community Garden will be taking a long winter break this year.

We Wont be running sessions at the farm or garden from next week through the end of January.

We will be back with lots of plans and loads of energy for the growing season ahead.

Looking forward to seeing you then!

These workshops are always a lovely gathering. This will be a lovely way to get in the festive spirit.

Join us tomorrow (Wednesday 3rd December) for our final North East Growers' Network meeting.

We are kindly being hosted by Provan Hall and will be coming together for a Winter Wellbeing Wonderland.

This is a drop in session between 10am-2pm, free to attend and open to anyone with an interest in community growing.

🌳We had a great time last weekend planting trees which we received from The Woodland Trust

🐦Another 120 saplings planted at to add to the biodiversity on the site, which will attract birds, insects and small mammals and provide lots of different habitats.

❄ The pond provided some cool ice shapes to play with as well.

🥁We were lucky to have our wonderful friend Cloud who brought up his instruments and everyone had a go, including the youngest visitor.

🎄 SPYF Christmas Fayre Appeal 🎄

SPYF is collecting unwanted gifts and small items for Christmas hampers and Tombola prizes!

If you have new or nearly-new items you don’t need, such as candles, toiletries, gift sets, toys, books, accessories, Christmas decorations, chocolate, sweets, biscuits, and unopened bottles of alcohol, donating these items will get everyone in the holiday spirit and make a difference to families this Christmas🎁✨

The Tombola will take place at the SPYF Christmas Fayre on the 5th of December 6PM to 8:30PM. All money raised goes directly back to the community!

❓Remember in February when we had a day of planting at we planted 100 sapling trees thanks to

🫵Well we are at it again, we have more trees and would love YOU to come and help us plant them

🤔What do I need to bring? Nothing, we have everything you need

🍲Will there be anything to eat or drink? YES, we will have tea, coffee and SOUP

🌳Thanks to the we have more saplings to plant, which will bring more wildlife to the farm.

❓Did you know we have a community pantry based in SPYF Molendinar Community Centre ? It's called the

🕝It's open on a Wednesday afternoon, from 2.30 - 4pm

👛Membership is £1 for the year. Each shop is then £2.50, each week there is a mix of fresh, frozen, chilled and ambient food. The stock is different every week.

🍠Sometimes you might even get a turnip bigger than your head!

🧐Come along, chat to staff, see what's going on.

🤝We have different volunteer roles for the pantry, so if you have a wee bit of spare time and would like to get involved you can chat about that too.
