This is a huge Thankyou to all our volunteers from Keep Scotland Beautiful and from all of the Milngavie In Bloom Main Committee and Gardening Group. We couldn’t do any of this without you.

To every single person who volunteers their time to keep Scotland beautiful, thank you!

Whether you're a litter picker, a judge or assessor or a data collector, your efforts are appreciated by us all. Thank you for making such a positive difference to our wonderful country 💛💜💚🩵

We will be hosting the following activities in June for Milngavie Week. We look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible.

Saturday 6th June
PLANT SALE - we will have a range of quality plants and seedlings for sale/donation during the Classic Car Event in the precinct. We do have a card reader but would welcome cash for our donation cans!!

Wednesday 10th June
We will be offering litter-picking and gardening opportunities from 10am. These short TASTER SESSIONS are designed to help potential new volunteers try out our activities before signing up. Come along to the community bed, outside the Fraser Centre, and pick your activity. Please wear clothing for the weather and sturdy footwear and if you have gloves please bring them too.

We will also be hosting two FLORAL WALKs around our garden sites at 2pm and at 7pm. The walk is approximately 4k and will take around 90 mins. Its an opportunity to meet some of our volunteers and get to know more about the areas we look after and learn about the history of the area and our projects. Meet at the Community Bed, outside the Fraser Centre, at 2pm or 7pm. Please wear weather appropriate clothing!!

Saturday 13th June

Our 2026 Community bed display celebrates the 60th anniversary of Milngavie Pipe Band and to mark the occasion and the joint effort in creating the display there will be a short ceremony with pipers from the band in attendance on Saturday 13 June at 11.30am. Do come along if you can.

Sunday 14th June
We will be represented at the St Paul’s ‘Heart of Milngavie’ Church Service at 11am. This service is to celebrate all who give their time to help Milngavie flourish. We would welcome any volunteers or members to join us - tabards optional!

🥾 A reminder that you can volunteer with us on Thursday 21st on the WestHighlandWay.

🌸 Our team looks after the first section of the WHW from the railing baskets at Costa to the Allander Road underpass. Given the rain we have lots of weeding to do, the planters have to be emptied ready for summer displays, and we have some new perennials to plant into the ground.

🧑‍🌾 We meet at the Allander Road junction at 10am for a couple of hours - but stop for a cuppa and a chat around 11am.

👋 We would welcome additional help so come along and join us - new volunteers, old volunteers and those who just haven’t been with us for a while.

15/05/2026

UPDATE - we have emptied the station road planters today so no volunteers required tomorrow morning. Cleansweep is however still on!!
