**THE QUITE REVOLUTION**

**Why Modern Men are Redefining Strength Through Stillness**

Millions of men are waking up to a radical truth: strength isn't about being invincible. Rather, it involves understanding yourself, being honest about your feelings, and building something meaningful from the inside out.

When we developed Blethr, we aimed to create an experience that feels like a personal journey—not in a physical sense, but as an internal exploration comprising four distinct paths:

**Physical**: The practical aspects—your body, your routines, and what you can touch.

**Mental**: Your thought processes—your ideas, plans, and beliefs about yourself.

**Emotional**: Your feelings, including frustration, anxiety, numbness, and anger.

**Spiritual**: The deeper questions—what matters to you, what you aspire to, and why you are here.

Currently, 27% of men describe themselves as spiritual. They are not simply joining churches or adhering to their parents' beliefs; instead, they are embarking on their own searches for meaning. This shift is changing everything, and Blethr is here to support you on that journey.

**DON'T CRY, BE TOUGH, DON'T FEEL**

Our latest article explores something we, as men, simply don't talk about, grief, exactly because of what it says above...

Why?

Since you were a kid, the message was always the same: don't cry. Be tough. Don't complain. Don't show weakness.

Men Are Taught to Fix, Not Feel. Most men aren't taught to talk about emotions. You're taught to fix things, stay productive, and push through.

Men are expected to be composed, distant, and strong. The difference isn't biological. It's cultural.

What happens when we follow this path?

Heart disease and high blood pressure are more common when grief is suppressed.

Your immune system weakens. You get sick more often and recover more slowly.

Digestive problems, back pain, and tension headaches become chronic.

It's simple, really...

"What you don't process emotionally, your body will process physically."

But it doesn't have to be this way.

There is a pathway to healing.

**BRIDGING THE MIDLIFE SILENCE**

''We've been taught to deny reality—to pretend that ageing can be fixed, delayed, or reversed. This denial is destructive. It forces men to either pretend everything is fine or scramble for quick fixes rather than build real strength for the years ahead.''

Age happens to the best of us. For some, it takes its time; for others, it comes roaring towards you like a rocket. Guess what? There's nothing you can do about it.

However, for guys, it can be an especially sticky subject; the old 'midlife crisis' can rear its head and affect us in many different ways, some good, some not so much.

Here's our recent article on it from a mental wellbeing POV:

Denial to acceptance: how, by addressing your internal world—what psychologists call "individuation"—you can become whole by integrating the parts of yourself you've been taught to hide or ignore.

How technology, in all its forms, is a double-edged sword. It can either keep us distracted and disconnected or be a tool for real self-understanding (and, of course, how Blethr is unique in this regard).

Stop Surviving—Start Living: Accepting that your body is changing, pay attention to the feelings you're trying to ignore. Those feelings aren't weakness—they're information.

Only by taking care of what's happening on the inside can you change how you present on the outside.

It's time to put down the mask and start being real. Read the full article below👇

Protect The Man Inside The Dad.

Did you know that when you become a new dad, your body actually changes?

Your testosterone levels drop by about 25%, while other hormones, such as oxytocin (the bonding hormone), increase. These shifts help you be a better caregiver, but they can also make you more vulnerable to depression and anxiety, especially if you're not sleeping.

''Having struggled with mental health myself and having the “grey dog” in my life, I was hoping to support your charity as I believe the way in which you support other men through your resources and support mechanisms is incredible. I want to give back.''

Here's a big thank you to those taking part in today's Kiltwalk in Glasgow; it means a lot, especially just now.

We have seen a significant increase in the use of BLETHR since the new version was released in March; normally, it's around 2000 users per Month, but it reached 6000 over the last four weeks.

We have also seen a significant uplift in countries with large expat communities. We have always had users in America and Australia. What is new is the visits from places such as Singapore and the UAE, not surprising, maybe with the current state of world events.

There has also been a dramatic increase in how long a user spends with BLETHR, in other words, they are having longer conversations, something that was unthinkable even a year ago (what, men having deep conversations around their mental wellbeing, no chance!)

It's not surprising that costs will rise as we get more users. Every donation or fundraising is gratefully received so we can keep the service online and free 24/7 wherever men are.

So, thank you, Glasgow Kiltwalkers. We may not be the biggest charity, but we have the biggest reach, that's for sure.
