*Community Awareness & Solidarity Appeal from The Bangla Centre SCIO*

The Bangla Centre SCIO stands in solidarity with Mr Md Iftekhar Ul Islam following the recent reported assault in Glasgow.

We strongly condemn all forms of violence, racism, hate and intimidation. Everyone should be able to live, work and travel safely, regardless of their background, nationality, faith or appearance.

Mr Islam is currently recovering from serious injuries and is unable to work. This has also created significant financial pressure for him and his family.

To support him during his recovery, The Bangla Centre SCIO is raising funds to help with essential living costs, loss of income, family support and other necessary expenses arising from this incident.

We kindly ask our community and friends across Scotland to stand together in compassion and solidarity.

Please donate generously if you are able to. Every contribution, however small, can make a meaningful difference.

We also ask all community members to remain vigilant, careful and aware of their surroundings. If you experience or witness any violence, threats, harassment or suspicious behaviour, please contact Police Scotland immediately. In an emergency, call 999; for non-emergency matters, call 101.

Please remain calm, avoid confrontation and do not put yourself at unnecessary risk.

Let us stand together for justice, dignity, safety, unity and mutual respect.

Please donate, share this appeal and support Mr Iftekhar and his family during this difficult time.
