Our award-winning mentoring programme believes in the power of connection, communication and the overall transformational potential of mentoring in school and community settings. We match adult volunteer mentors from all walks of life, careers and experiences with young people experiencing a range of challenging circumstances, to build confidence, overcome obstacles, awaken ambition and much more. 🚀 | Our Additional Mentor Training sessions recently kicked off with our University Awareness Sessions!

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting our mentors throughout their journey, we ensure you have continuous training, guidance, and up-to-date tools so you can support your mentee with total confidence.

We have a fantastic lineup of virtual workshops on the horizon covering financial wellbeing, career pathways, higher education funding, and young person support.

All sessions are held virtually via Microsoft Teams and are designed to equip trusted adult volunteer mentors with the insights and tools to guide their mentoring conversations:

🎲 RCA Trust: Gambling Awareness, advice on supporting young people
🎓 SAAS: Higher education funding, grants, and bursaries explained
💼 SDS & DYW: Navigating My World of Work, Marketplace and Apprenticeships
💷 Money Advice Scotland: Promoting positive financial wellbeing
🌟 Young Scot: Opportunities and youth services
🏫 College Awareness: Spotlights with Edinburgh, Glasgow & Strathclyde, UWS, GCU, RGU, Stirling, UHI Perth & more!

While eradicating child poverty is the Scottish Government’s top priority, policy alone isn't enough. Relational support like mentoring complements income interventions by building confidence, broadening horizons, and creating clear pathways to positive futures.

🤝  | New partnership announcement: We've partnered with Milnbank Housing Association!

This formalised strategic mentoring partnership will mean we can support even greater numbers of young people to build brighter futures in Glasgow.

Rooted in our shared belief in community, Milnbank employees will be trained as volunteer mentors to help local young people build confidence, resilience, and ambition, supporting their progression into further and higher education, apprenticeships, training, and employment.

Paul Martin, CEO of Milnbank Housing Association, said: "We recognise the difference positive role models can make and are proud to support an initiative that helps young people realise their potential and build confidence for the future."

Our latest survey found that 97% of mentored young people said their confidence improves through their relationship with a trusted adult. It is impact like this that makes partnerships vital to achieving our vision: ensuring every young person who could benefit from a mentor has access to one—until everyone has someone in their corner.

A huge thank you to Martyn Day SNP for raising the importance of MCR Pathways and the difference a trusted adult volunteer mentor can make in a young person’s life at First Minister’s Questions.

📍 | We are launching our award-winning mentoring programme in Dumfries and Galloway and we are hiring for 2 brand-new roles:

💼 Mentor Services Coordinator: Be the key contact for our trusted adult volunteer mentors, conducting interviews, organising training, and making sure every mentor is fully supported from day one.
💼 Programme Manager: Lead and manage all aspects of our programme delivery, working closely with schools, colleges and partners.

Join our unstoppable movement for change and help create transformational outcomes for local young people.

These important roles ensure that every young person in Dumfries and Galloway has the support they need to find a better future, all through the power of mentoring.

Applications for both roles close on Monday, 5th October at 9am.

By matching young people with dedicated trusted adult volunteer mentors, MCR Pathways aims to build confidence, unlock potential and create lasting support networks.
