Battle of Britain Day

Today we remember and honour the courage, sacrifice and determination of those who served during the Battle of Britain.

On Sunday, we gathered at Glasgow Cathedral for the RAF Association - Glasgow Branch annual Battle of Britain Church Service, a moving opportunity to remember those who fought and those who made the ultimate sacrifice, led by Rev Mark Johnstone.

We were privileged to be joined by Lord Provost of Glasgow, Lord Dean of the Guild, Deacon Convenor, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, RAF Association members, 602 Sqn Reserves and West Scotland Wing Royal Air Force Air Cadets

We remember them. We honour their service. We will never forget.

For the fallen

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Honoured to attend the VE Day 80th commemoration Glasgow Cathedral today, followed by a reception with Lord Provost of Glasgow

It was a privilege to be there alongside our incredible Life Vice President, Rene Maclean, and fellow members of the RAF Association - Glasgow Branch

Rene, now 103, served as a hairdresser during the war, both in the UK and overseas, and was stationed in Jerusalem when the war ended. She truly is our hero

Delighted to see our Life Vice President Rene featured in today’s VE article!

It was the day when peace broke out across Europe, when a war-weary country threw off the shackles of fear on their great day of redemption.
