Boomerang Woodworking CIC

Just another day at Boomerang ☀️🪚

Al and Panos have been busy working on this sandpit for a commission, and it’s looking pretty good, nearly finished!

And of course, Maya was around keeping an eye on things (and very clearly stealing the show 🐶😂).

A pretty chilled day at the workshop all round.

A few moments from our September Beginners Bench 🪚

We had such a nice evening in the workshop on Wednesday, with everyone getting stuck into making their own bird boxes.

Thanks to everyone who came along, it was lovely having you in the workshop. See you at the next one! 💛

There’s always a tool for the job around here.

We have a wide range of tools in the workshop, whether you’re tackling a quick fix, starting a bigger build or just figuring out how to make something work.

Curious about what we have? Send us a DM or come in for a workshop visit and have a look around.

Panos came into the workshop many weeks ago to build a shelf for his 3D printer.

A few Open Bench sessions later, it’s done 🙌

It’s sturdy, practical and turned out really well. We’ve loved seeing it come together bit by bit, and even better that he made it himself right here in the workshop.

Come back soon

We’re so pleased to announce that we have received Awards for All funding from @ to continue our Woodwork for Skills & Wellbeing project in 2027.

From next spring, we’ll be offering free woodworking workshops for beginners and improvers, with a focus on practical skills, confidence and making the workshop more accessible to people who may face barriers to joining paid classes.

We’ll share more details on dates, eligibility and how to get involved soon.

We also want to say a big thank you to everyone who has donated through our Open Bench and Beginner Bench bookings; those donations will help us offer even more free sessions.

A couple of projects from last week’s Open Bench 🔨

Anne joined us to build frames for an upcoming exhibition of her work. She’s an artist working with contemporary ink painting, water, paper and site-responsive research.

Andrew was working on a bookshelf, he wanted something handmade rather than something off the shelf, so decided to build his own.

A good evening of making and two very different projects taking shape.
