Length of time at Home-Start: 8 months

What attracted you to Home-Start:
I’d spent many years working alongside families both antenatally and in the early stages after their babies were born, and I wanted to build on the skills and experience I’d gained while continuing to support families through some of the most challenging periods in their lives. Home-Start felt like a natural fit, a chance to continue doing work I’m passionate about, while making a meaningful difference to families when they need support the most.

Best thing about Home-Start:
Seeing how much the staff and volunteers genuinely care about the families they support. It’s lovely to be part of a team that is so passionate about making a difference.

Things I could do without: The home baking from the other team members! Healthy eating goes out the window on team meeting days.

Most valuable learning from time at Home-Start: I’ve learned that sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest difference to a family.

Cat or dog: Neither, I’m happy to admire other people’s pets from a safe distance!

Winter or summer: Winter, there’s nothing better than wrapping up in layers, and a hat does wonders for hiding a bad hair day!

Sweet or savoury: Sweet, definitely!

Unknown secret that you can share: I’m keeping my secrets… although, to be honest, I’m not sure I have any.

Suzanne is an infant psychologist who has a brilliant way of making the science around babies and relationships easy to understand and relevant to everyday life.
