James Hometown on SSL x EDC 🗣️:

“After more than ten years of Hometown, this will be the first time we’ve taken the full sound system through to Edinburgh for a flagship session like this. It feels like the right moment, and the right people to be doing it with.

Hometown’s activity as a sound system has always jumped between the traditions of reggae and dancehall and the newer forms of UK bass music that have grown from them — dubstep, grime, 140 and beyond.

Over the years we’ve worked independently with both Edinburgh Dub Club and SSL, so bringing all three together alongside a serious cast of sound system artists really strikes a chord with us as a collective. There’s a lot happening around sound system music in Scotland just now, across different generations, cities and styles, and this feels like a proper meeting point for it.

We’ll be closing out the night on the full Hometown rig with longtime comrade Horseman, running a special SOUND SYSTEM MUZIK set moving through 140, dubstep, dancehall and reggae.” - James Hometown

DUB CLUB RETURNS 🔊

After a summer break we’re back in The Vic for our first session since May — joined by one of the UK’s most distinctive reggae voices, CHARLIE P.

From growing up around sound system culture to becoming a regular voice on some of the heaviest sounds in the world, Charlie has built his name through years of sessions, records and collaborations — equally at home across roots, dub, steppers and soundsystem music.

We’re very happy to welcome him to DUB CLUB for an intimate session in The Vic, powered by Hometown Sound System.

DUB CLUB back in The Art School 🚂

This one’s got a bit of history to it.

Hometown and Uplands go way back, to 2018, when Stu first started roasting coffee out the Hometown yard. Since then Uplands has become a part of Glasgow’s landscape, and the Railyard has turned into one of those spaces that’s felt really positively by a lot of people around us 🙏

It feels right to bring that shared energy into the Dub Club environment.

Stu will be passing through with a bag of fire dubplates (expect LOTS of specials), with nicing it up on live flute. Special warm up sets from the Uplands posse too.

HOMETOWN CORNER RETURNS TO KELBURN 2026 🌿🔊

We’re heading back to the forest, over the bridge, under the trees in the corner 😉

Hometown Corner is our own world inside Kelburn Garden Party. It’s a constant force of sound system pressure throughout the weekend; familiar faces, heavy tunes, dancefloor heat - the spot.

BIG LOVE to Kelburn for supporting the concept. We’ve been building this space year by year, learning how to make it better, deeper and more us each time. 2026 is another step forward, featuring a diverse lineup of Scottish sound system artists that we’ll be making a full announcement on very soon 🙏
