We received an anonymous donation of clothing and toiletries recently - the continued support we receive from donors is what allows us to continue our work. Thanks to all who are so generous and help us.

We were assisted on Wednesday night by pupils and staff from St. Andrew’s RC Secondary School, Carntyne. They were a great help and we really appreciate them giving up their time to assist.

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing today of Mr Brian Bonnyman, former President of Our Lady of the Wayside Club.
Brian gave over twenty years of devoted voluntary service to the Club. He was a greatly respected gentleman, whose dedication, leadership, and quiet generosity helped shape the Wayside Club and left a lasting legacy within our community.
Brian was deeply inspired by his Catholic faith, which guided his life of service and was evident in the kindness, humility, and compassion he showed to all.
Following a stroke just over a week ago, Brian was lovingly supported by his Wayside family, who remained at his bedside right up to his passing — a true reflection of the community he so faithfully served.
Brian will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all at the Wayside Club.
May he rest in peace.

We are delighted that one of our long-serving Legionaries, Lawrence McGarry, has been awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honours list.

Lawrence undertakes a massive amount of work behind the scenes as the administrator of the Wayside Club. In addition to this, he also runs the Tuesday evening service with another Legionary and a team of volunteers.

His commitment to the work we do at the Legion of Mary Wayside Club is an example to us all and we are enormously proud that his dedication has been formally recognised.

Congratulations and thanks for all you do!

On Saturday 27th December the Club hosted our Annual Christmas Dinner. Our caterers provided a delicious 3 course Christmas Dinner for over 100 patrons, with another 40 receiving a hot take-away meal. Archbishop Nolan very kindly gave of his time to come along to the Club and distribute Christmas Gifts to all present and draw the raffle. We are very grateful to all our supporters who donated gifts for our patrons and to all our Legionaries and Volunteers who gave up their time to make the event a success. Our thanks to Archbishop Nolan for supporting us once again.

It has been a busy couple of days at the Wayside - we are open every day and that includes Christmas Day and Boxing Day. We are extremely lucky to have a brilliant team of volunteers who support our Legionaries in their work - pictured are the teams who covered Christmas Day and Boxing Day this year. Many thanks to them for giving so freely of their time.
