50th Glasgow Scouts We are the 50th Glasgow Scout Group. We welcome members of ages 4 to 18 with a focus on fun and outdoor activities.

A reminder that Cubs and Scouts are not running tomorrow night. Back as normal on the the 29th.

Dear Friends,

John’s funeral mass will be held on the the 22nd of May at 10:00 in St. Columbkille's, Rutherglen, followed by a committal service at 11:00 at Linn Crematorium.

John was a true Scout, but he felt that Scout Uniform was for happier times and his preference will be respected by Members of the 50th Glasgow. While wearing Scout uniform was not John’s wish, he understood that others might choose to do so.

Dear Friends of the 50th,

Early on Friday afternoon, John Cunningham , our Group Leader and Scout Leader passed away peacefully at home.

Scouting was a large part of John’s life and this is reflected in the even larger impact that John had on the young people and adult leaders whom he guided and cared about over many years.

At this time, though, we must turn our attention to the most important part of John’s life which was his family. Our heartfelt condolences are expressed to those he was closest to.

The Silver Wolf is Scouting's highest adult award, only presented for exceptional service to the Movement. After 33 years of such exceptional service to the 50th Glasgow and Scouting in general, we are delighted to announce that John Cunningham has been awarded this. We believe that he is the first member of the 50th to have been honoured in this way. Thank you, John, for all you have done for our Group.
