This is a new award that we have created for one volunteer every year who we feel has gone above and beyond. This year our fantastic volunteer Trish Kerr picked up the award and we are so grateful to have her as part of our service.

We are so thankful to Caulders Garden Centres Kirkintilloch who sponsored the award this year and donated a beautiful plant for our winner. Thank you!

As well as a celebration of volunteers this past week, we hope we have inspired new volunteers to the service!

We are currently looking for a befriender for a great gentleman in the Bishopbriggs area who loves dogs, football and music, amongst many other things.

Ideally you would have a car and could go out together as well as home visits.

interested? Call us on 0141 345 0432 or email [email protected]

At that's a wrap!

Here is a little round up of our

What a week it has been, from tea parties, to beach trips and sitting down with our befriendees as they talk about the important impact their befriender (volunteer) has made on their lives.

Our service runs with the help of our dedicated volunteers, who show up for those who are feeling lonely or isolated in their community. What an honour it is to have a full week to celebrate them and the difference they make.

For , we had one of our befriendees chat to us about how her life has changed after being matched with a volunteer Befriender.

All our befrienders are volunteers, making this week the perfect time to showcase the impact that they make.

🎊 Volunteer Tea Party! 🎉

A big bash for all our volunteers who give their free time to the service and to those in their community. We could not be more grateful to have every one of you participate in the charity and offer your time and support.

A big THANK YOU to Caulders Garden Centres Kirkintilloch who sponsored our 'Spotlight Award'. A new award this year to give special thanks to a volunteer who has gone above and beyond. Thanks to Caulders Garden Centres Kirkintilloch we were able to gift a beautiful plant to our spotlight winner.

Here's to all the volunteers out there! ❤

Volunteers' Week

02/06/2026

Our volunteer Linda and Befriendee sat down with us to talk about their experience of befriending together.

All of our befrienders are volunteers and give their time every week to someone in the community who is lonely or isolated.

With people like Linda volunteering at the service, our local community becomes a little bit brighter 🌟❤
