Loyal Sons of Govan, Orange Lodge no. 692

Loyal Sons of Govan, Orange Lodge no. 692 L.O.L. 692 is a small but active lodge within Govan district.

Founded in 1880 L.O.L. 692 has traditionally recruited its membership from amongst the many thousands of dockworkers making their living on the banks of the Clyde. Although changes in wider society mean that the lodge now draws its membership from a broader range of professions, all of the officer bearers and brethren of 692 keep the 130 year history of the lodge close to heart. During the 1990s 6

92 was afflicted by the general decline in numbers affecting the Orange Order across Scotland at that time, with our numbers being diminished considerably from the steady membership of 40 plus that had previously been maintained. However, as with the rest of the Order, more recent years have seen an upturn with a net increase in numbers every year for the past five. Although still one of the smaller lodges within Govan district, our membership remains active with dances, bar days, trips away, and other activities being organised for the membership to contribute to. Over the years we have managed to maintain a good relationship with the other lodges in our district as well as a strong and long lasting friendship with the Pollok Young Loyalist Flute Band, who we engage for our main Boyne Celebrations every year. More recently we have gotten to know the members of Kilmarnock Purple Heroes L.O.L. 289, and we hope this is a friendship that will also last many years. Anyone seeking more information about our lodge, the Orange Order in general, or seeking to enquire about membership of the institution please feel free to send us a message or leave a comment on our wall.

Today is the day Scotland’s story changes. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Don’t walk to the polls alone. Bring your family. Knock on your neighbours door. Text that friend who always says “my vote doesn’t matter.”

It does. Yours does. Theirs does.

Every single vote is a brick in the foundation of what Scotland becomes next. The future isn’t decided by politicians in rooms you can’t access, it’s decided by ordinary people who show up make an extraordinary choice.

This is that moment.

Use it. 🗳️

A message from the Most Worthy Grand Master: 🗣️

"I am urging Unionist voters across Scotland to turn out on 7 May 2026 and to encourage others in their communities to do the same. Your vote can make the difference.

As Grand Master, I want to speak plainly. On 7 May, Scotland votes, yet too many will stay at home. If turnout remains low, the direction of our country can be decided by a relatively small number of voices.

I know the strength within our community. The Loyal Orders and our supporters number in the tens of thousands, and when we consider our wider networks of family, friends, neighbours and colleagues, that number is far greater. Each year, our parades demonstrate that strength in both number and spirit. That same unity can and must be reflected at the ballot box.

Elections are often decided by the narrowest of margins. In recent local elections, just a handful of votes in key areas could have changed entire council outcomes. That is the reality across Scotland.

If you believe Scotland is stronger within the United Kingdom, then the responsibility is clear. Vote, support Unionist candidates, and encourage others to do likewise. If you feel Scotland is being taken in the wrong direction, the most effective response is to make your voice heard.

This is a moment for the Unionist community to stand together and be counted.

On 7 May, bring a family member, a friend, a neighbour, and remind someone who might otherwise stay at home."
