At the Al Gilani Foundation we believe strong communities are built through connection, understanding and genuine hospitality. Creating spaces where people from different backgrounds can come together, learn from one another and build meaningful relationships is at the heart of everything we do.
It was a pleasure to share the experience of Iftar and the meal that breaks the fast during Ramadan, and to give a tour of the mosque while spending time in conversation and connection. When people sit together, share food and learn about one another’s traditions, barriers begin to fall and genuine understanding begins to grow.
The evening was filled with thoughtful conversations, new connections and a spirit of openness that truly reflects the strength of our communities. Hearing the reflections from those who attended was incredibly meaningful and a reminder that sometimes the most powerful work we do is simply creating spaces where people feel welcomed, valued and respected.
Thank you to Eastend Matters for joining us and for the important work you are doing to support people in our communities. We look forward to continuing this relationship and working together to strengthen community wellbeing and cohesion.
