Another great morning at Elder Park parkrun . Parkrun is every Saturday at 9.30 (Elder Park is off on 7th June due to an event but back on 14th). All are welcome to parkrun. 5kyw aims to give added encouragement to anyone affected by cancer - whether you have had your own diagnosis, supported a loved one or are a health care professional. You can walk, run, jog, cheer or volunteer. Get involved your way 😊🚶‍♀️🏃‍♂️📣

Your 5K Your Way team is meeting at Elder Park parkrun this Saturday (31st May)

🔷 Come along for a coffee and chat after at Connie's Hall (requested donation £1.50)
🔷ANYONE is welcome! People living with cancer, people recovering from cancer, friends and family as well as health care professionals.

We meet near the war memorial close to the Govan Road entrance at around 9.15 - look out for our blue hoodies!

It might have not been the sunniest morning, but a great morning at Elder Park as always. Thanks to all the Elder Park parkrun volunteers for making it happen and for supporting us 😊

Saturday 26th is 5 k Your Way day!! Elder Park parkrun

We'll be at our usual spot - at the war memorial near the start - for 9.15. Parkrun is for everyone, and 5k Your Way is all about encouraging anyone affected by cancer, to get involved - whether walking / jogging/ running all or part of it, or cheering or volunteering.

We're a support group with a difference and we'd love to see you there 😊

After the 322 day-long month that was January; comes super-short February!

World Cancer Day is 4th February. To help promote awareness of the importance of moving after a cancer diagnosis, 5K Your Way ambassadors are meeting today and next Saturday at parkruns across the UK. The groups from. Elder park, Glasgow 5k Your Way, Move Against Cancer , Dean Castle 5k Your Way, Move Against Cancer and Edinburgh 5k Your Way, Move Against Cancer all met at Strathclyde parkrun this morning. What a beautiful morning. Thanks to the parkrun team for welcoming us (and sorry we were too late to speak at the briefing!) We all had a great time, and we'll definitely be back!!

On a cold, wet, post-storm morning, after half of Glasgow had been almost blown away....the other half came to Elder Park parkrun !

HUGE shout-out to the whole Elder Park team for all the time taken to check the course beforehand and communicate to everyone. And because most local parkruns were cancelled, Elder Park had around double the usual number of runners! All the volunteers handled this (in cold and wet conditions) like absolute pros.

A special shout-out to the incredible Run Director Magda who managed it all with her usual smiles (not tagging Magda in case she doesn't want to be tagged - but we all know who you are!) And we were delighted to see some familiar faces coming along for 5K Your Way.

This morning was proof that, even when you don't feel like doing it - getting outside and getting moving nearly always makes you feel better, especially when surrounded by lots of friendly faces.

Remember - park run is every week. 5K Your Way joins parkrun the last Saturday of the month to give a little extra encouragement to anyone affected by cancer; to get involved - in whatever way they can. If you are interested but a little nervous or unsure - please message us and we can have a chat beforehand!
