That’s a wrap on Staf National Conference 2026 💜

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday and helped make the day what it was. We had so many brilliant conversations, ideas and connections throughout the day, and we’re really looking forward to keeping those conversations going.

And while the conference might be over, there are lots of ways to stay involved with Staf. From focus groups and forums, to participation events and Youth Justice Voices, there are plenty of opportunities to share your experiences, ideas and views.

How can we help young people with care experience build connections and have a real say in the decisions that shape their move into adulthood?

We’re looking forward to welcoming Wendy McColl and Teri Evans from Ayrshire College to Staf National Conference 2026.

They’ll be sharing how Ayrshire College supports Care Experienced students, including what helps young people feel supported, engaged and able to succeed.

Workshop spotlight! 📢

Next up in our workshop spotlights for the Staf National Conference is What we wish all adults knew about children’s move to adulthood.

Gordon and Amy will be joined by Andrew and Abbie, young people with care experience from Our Hearings, Our Voice, for an interactive session using creative resources and a ‘Game of Life’ to explore what can help make the move to adulthood a more positive experience.

Together, they’ll look at relationships, belonging, continuity, rights and successful transitions, bringing young people’s experiences and perspectives to the conversation.

We’re excited to kick off our workshop spotlights by introducing Roots to Growth, one of the many workshops taking place at the Staf National Conference on 6 October.

Run by Phil Coady and Danny Henderson from Care Visions, this interactive workshop will explore how Roots to Growth can support smoother pathways to adulthood for young people.

The session will focus on relationships, belonging, continuity, competence, hope and positive opportunities, and how these can help support young people as they move towards adulthood.

There’s plenty more to come, with brilliant speakers, workshops and opportunities to connect throughout the day.
