We were incredibly lucky to have caption designer Daniel Hughes as part of The Singer creative team.
At Solar Bear and Dundee Rep, accessibility and theatre are not separate ideas. They are one and the same. Daniel's creativity, care and expertise helped create an immersive captioning experience that added tone, depth and meaning through position, font, colour, transitions and timing.
Working seamlessly with the set design, the captions felt as though they had always belonged there, enhancing the storytelling while ensuring greater accessibility for all.
A huge thank you, Daniel, for your hard work, innovation and collaboration. 💙
