Another busy weekend for our amazing volunteers!

A big thank you to Lorraine, Craig, Helen, Lynsey and Joel for providing first aid cover at the Bowhill Highland Games and the John Thompson Memorial Tournament. We hope you had a brilliant time! Fun fact, our volunteers Helen and Lynsey, are a fantastic mother daughter duo - how amazing!👏

And a special shoutout to our Queen Street Thistles! 🌟 They’ve been out having fun, getting stuck into activities and working towards their challenges and certificates. 🏆 A huge well done to them and their fantastic Youth Leaders for all their hard work and enthusiasm! 💙

Are you passionate about supporting volunteers and helping people have a great volunteering experience?

We’re looking for a Volunteer Development Specialist to join our team in Glasgow. You’ll build relationships with volunteers, support their development, help solve problems and play a key role in growing and improving volunteering across St Andrew’s First Aid.

📍 Glasgow
💼 Full-time – 35 hours per week
💷 £30,102 per year

Today's the day! Restart a Heart Live will see young people across Scotland and the rest of the UK learning essential CPR skills.

Classrooms, community groups and families all over the country will be logging in to the Restart a Heart livestream. It's not too late to register, and it's completely free. You can join on to the sessions through YouTube or Teams, and train together.

Across Scotland, our dedicated St Andrew’s First Aid volunteers are constantly developing their skills, refreshing their training and coming together at company nights to ensure they are ready to help when it matters most.

Whether they are training, practising their skills or providing first aid support at events, preparedness is at the heart of everything they do.

As part of , we’re celebrating the importance of being prepared for emergencies and recognising the incredible volunteers who give their time to make a difference in communities across Scotland.

A big shout-out to Eli, Gayle, Elaine, Ethan and the rest of our amazing duty team! 💙🏇🏆

Last weekend, our volunteers were at Ladies Day Gold Cup at Ayr Racecourse, providing first aid cover and helping keep everyone safe while enjoying a fantastic day!

We absolutely love supporting this venue and have been doing so for many years. It’s always brilliant to see our volunteers out and about, meeting people, supporting the event and, of course, having a great time along the way.

And what better way to finish off a busy day than with some seaside fish and chips and hot dogs!🍟🌭🌊

Today’s theme is Ready Kids – focusing on young people and emergency preparedness.

Our Thistles and Cadets groups support young people from 5-15 to build life saving skills, resilience, and confidence.

Here are our Leith Thistles and Cadets practising Bag-Valve-Mask and defibrillator techniques at a recent meeting. Some of our Cadets also picked up their Junior First Aid certificates 👏👏👏

Senior Youth Leader, Kevin, said: “It’s so important for young people to learn essential skills like CPR.

“At Thistles and Cadets, young people build so much confidence and resilience. They learn how to stay calm and respond if someone is hurt. It’s a different way of thinking, and it can literally save lives.”

Our Queen Street Thistles and Cadets learned all about staying safe in the water - thanks to Richard, who visited us from the RNLI 🚤
