Our teams in the Middle East aren't just serving their communities – they are part of them.

Join us in praying not just for the aid being delivered, but for the hearts, minds, and protection of those delivering it.

Let’s also lift up the peacemakers, church leaders, and political leaders guiding the region toward reconciliation. 🙏

With 515 confirmed Ebola cases and 91 deaths, there is growing fear across the Democratic Republic of Congo. Tearfund has spoken to one of the church leaders we work alongside on the frontline of the Ebola epidemic in the DRC.

'We are afraid these days because of the deaths caused by the Ebola epidemic. This situation is very serious,' says Reverend Pastor JarieKong’A Munguromo Penuel.

Tearfund is currently working with local partners and faith leaders to share prevention and safety guidelines, distributing hygiene kits with soap for handwashing, building toilets and managing waste, to prevent the spread of the disease.

Donate to our Ebola Crisis Appeal and help Tearfund and our local partners provide life-saving supplies to people affected by the Ebola outbreak. https://f.mtr.cool/jbqujztyet

This morning, members of our Tearfund Scotland team were delighted to attend the National Prayer Breakfast for Scotland, joining leaders from across the nation.

This year’s theme was Integrity, with an incredibly inspiring keynote address from former Deputy First Minister of Scotland, Kate Forbes, who has been a faithful supporter of Tearfund’s work, having witnessed it herself in Nepal.

It was a valuable opportunity to reflect on the importance of prayer across Scotland, and gathering to pray – not just for our nation, but all the nations.

We’re grateful for the conversations, connections and encouragement shared today as we continue to pray with and for Scotland, its future and its leaders. 🙏

19 deaths have been reported so far, and countless families have lost their homes.

High devastation has been reported in General Santos, Davao, Davao del Norte, Cotabato, Zamboanga del Sur, and Sultan Kudarat.

Please keep praying for the affected people in the Philippines and God's mercy for any follow-up tsunamis or calamities.

Thank you, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, for your support for Tearfund’s work to help people lift themselves out of extreme poverty.

Walk in all His ways - Deuteronomy 10:12
The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland has asked Church members to consider supporting Christian charity Tearfund Scotland which helps tackle poverty in more than 50 countries. The Rt Rev Gordon Kennedy, who visited Burundi in East Africa earlier this year, said: "I have seen for myself the difference Tearfund's approach makes and how, when the church steps forward in faith, entire communities can be transformed." https://www.churchofscotland.org.uk/about-us/general-assembly/moderator/moderators-project

This Volunteers’ Week, we want to give a massive shout-out to our incredible network of volunteer speakers! 👏

We’re still so encouraged by the recent Volunteer Speakers’ Conference in Birmingham, where our very own Bee Roy helped train our excellent team of volunteers.

It was a joy to gather with such a passionate group of people who generously give their time and voices to speak in churches across Scotland, inspire others, and make a difference. The day was filled with connection, learning, prayer, and a shared heart to see churches engaged and communities transformed.

We heard powerful stories, grew in confidence, and were reminded again of the huge impact that faithful, willing volunteers can have. But don’t just take our word for it – here’s what some of our speakers from Scotland had to say about the day:

‘It was great to meet other volunteer speakers and hear how they serve, share experiences and ideas, and be able to enthuse each other about Tearfund’s work. The sessions were very well done and accessible to us, whether we were new or experienced speakers.’ – Gordon Palmer

‘Meeting and chatting to other speakers was such an encouragement. It was good to hear of their experiences and learn how they speak in churches. Feeling part of a team was important to me.’ – Jeremy Balfour

‘The conference was a great opportunity to meet and chat with other speakers, a time of getting to know Tearfund better, and the teaching and devotional times were so well put together. It was inspiring to see excellence encouraged within the team of speakers, but without pressure. I wouldn’t hesitate to attend again.’ – Stephen Appleton

A huge thank you to every one of our volunteer speakers who came along and contributed. You play such a vital part in our shared vision of seeing an end to extreme poverty.

Want to join the team? If you’d like to find out more about becoming a Tearfund volunteer speaker, or inviting one to speak at your church, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch today!

Today we want to invite you to celebrate the fantastic Adrian from Dunblane with us! 🔨 👏

Adrian has been using his handy DIY skills in a wonderful way: taking on odd jobs, fixing things, and completing home projects for his friends and neighbours in exchange for donations to Tearfund. He has raised over £2,000 in total!

Ahead of Volunteers’ week (which falls this week – 1 to 7 June) we interviewed him to find out what motivates him to keep picking up his tools for global justice. We love seeing the creative ways you use your unique skills to fundraise for Tearfund, and we hope Adrian's story inspires you to see how your own hobbies and talents can make a world of difference.

Watch his inspiring video to see Adrian in action.

Where does love lead you?

For us, it leads to the heart of the world's hardest places. It leads to communities rising above poverty and conflict. It leads to the restoration of hope where it was once dimmed.

Jesus didn’t stay at a distance. He moved toward the pain to restore what was broken. We follow his lead, entering into the world's most challenging situations so that no one is forgotten and no community is left behind.

Join us where the barriers fall, and possibility stirs.

Tearfund. Where love leads.

A deadly Ebola outbreak is tearing through the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

As of 27 May 2026, 240 people have died, believed to be from Ebola, with more than 1000 suspected cases. And the numbers are growing fast.

God calls us to show compassion for our neighbours near and far. His love leads us to respond in times of crisis.

Your donation will help Tearfund, our partners, and local churches provide life-saving hygiene supplies and help communities prevent the spread of this virus. https://f.mtr.cool/swqamqecmk
