The SPRED Centre is closed for the midterm holidays until Monday 19th Oct. but we are already looking forward to training more volunteers to join our last group of volunteers, Liz, Louise and Yasmin who are now moving into their new groups.
Training will run on 4 Mondays from 26 October.

We prepare carefully for things that are important to us.
This morning we have been preparing carefully for the session with our friends from Hampden School.
We have laid out the flowers, candle and Holy Book that the children will place in the celebration room.
We have prepared materials for handwashing through which the children will learn about getting ready for an important event.
We have laid out attractive dishes, tablecloth, napkin, candle, flowers and enough food for all to share round the table we will set together.
It’s worth taking time for the people and things that matter to us.
We are grateful that God takes time for us.

Did you know that the books that are sitting on your shelves can raise money for SPRED?
A box of books in good condition and with bar codes can raise around £10 to help fund our work. It doesn’t seem a lot, but it soon mounts us.
Why not have a clear out and let us take your spare books off your hands?
Books can be dropped off at the SPRED Centre, 20 Robroyston Road G33 1EQ most weekdays. 8.30 - 5 Drop us a message so we are here to thank you.

This week our adult groups are reflecting on the life that we receive from each other and from all of God’s creation.
Most groups are enjoying oranges, their colour, shape and the juice that they give us. One group has a member with a citrus allergy so they will be enjoying these beautiful apples.
We are grateful for the life we share. We are grateful that Jesus sends his Holy Spirit to fill us with his life.

For parishioners in the Archdiocese of Glasgow who need a Mass that is quieter, understanding and welcoming to those who are neurodiverse, join our small community for Mass this Sunday at 2.30 in St. Andrews Cathedral.
God loves you just as you are, so come as you are. Bring whatever helps you to feel comfortable and know that God has a special place for you in His house.

Our friend Lachlan is preparing for First Reconciliation so on Sunday we used some simple pictures to help us to become aware that we are sad when we do not live as friends of God and other people. We learned that the priest helps us to say sorry to God and to live as God’s friend again. Jesus welcomes us. We are happy when we live with Jesus as friends of God.
Please pray for Lachlan over the next few weeks as he approaches this great Sacrament of God’s love and mercy.
