VOX Scotland brings together people across Scotland with lived experience of mental ill health.

Our members shape our work, contribute to our research and help us make sure lived experience is heard by the people making decisions about mental health policy and services.

Membership is free and open to anyone aged 16 or over in Scotland with lived or living experience of mental ill health.

VOX Scotland wants to hear about your experience, whether you attended for a physical health reason, a mental health reason, or both.

We want to understand what helped, what made things more difficult and what could improve the mental health support available when people attend A&E.

VOX Scotland wants to hear about your experience, including any staff, support or approaches that made a positive difference, as well as what could have been better.

You can take part whether you attended A&E for a physical health reason, a mental health reason, or both.

Your views will help us build a clearer picture of people’s experiences and develop recommendations for improving mental health support in A&E.

We’re delighted to announce that Ruth Hart has been elected as the new Chair of VOX Scotland!

Ruth brings extensive experience as a mental health advocate, alongside her own lived experience and experience as a family carer. In addition to two years as a member of the VOX board, she has been part of several charitable organisations and currently works as Senior Programme Leader at Deafblind Scotland.

We’re very pleased to welcome Ruth to her new role!
