St Gregory's Food Bank

St Gregory's Food Bank The SGFB operates Monday to Friday from 10am until 12noon and anyone in need is welcome to use our service regardless of age or circumstances.

St Gregory's Food Bank (SGFB) is based in the Wyndford area of Maryhill, Glasgow and our team of local volunteers have been serving people within the G20, G21 and G22 postcode areas since 2016. Bags distributed by SGFB contain a range of grocery and store cupboard items with household cleaning and personal hygiene products also available on request or when stock allows. The cost of supplies are la

rgely met through cash donations and we receive deliveries of food and other essential items from SGFB supporters and FareShare Scotland. The value of each bag that SGFB distributes is around £9 and with more people needing to use our service and rising prices, our spend January-May 2022 is up almost £9k from the same period last year and therefore it is important that support for SGFB is maintained and donations continue to ensure that we can respond effectively to those in need in our community. If you can help us to help others by donating food/other items or making a financial contribution it would be much appreciated. Goods can be dropped off at St Gregory's and our bank details are as follows:
Account Name: St Gregory Church Food Bank
Sort Code: 83-21-42
Account Number: 00256900

A massive thank you to all who have supported us recently with food donations and also to the many anonymous donors who gifted us cash either online or in person. We are so blessed and fortunate to have your support and generosity.

Finally, a big shout out to James, who visited the food bank with his mum Yemoley on Tuesday to hand in some food donations and ended up helping the volunteers with bag packing and shelf stacking. Here's hoping we have a future volunteer in the making!!

As we near the end of this financial year, we must thank every one of our donors who allow us to claim gift aid on their donation. It gives the foodbank an added financial boost, which, we can assure you, comes in very handy as food costs continually rise. If you are a taxpayer and regularly donate to us, please consider gift aiding which allows us to maximise your donation. Gift aid forms can be filled out via our website (stgregorysfoodbank.com) or feel free to pop into the office to get a form.

Continuing with our thanks and appreciation, we have todays' round...

Arranged by Aileen, one of our above and beyond volunteers, we were donated 2 racks of shelving by Tony at .The Store Interior, who not only gave us the racks but also paid for the transport of them to the food bank. Thank you so much, they have been a much needed addition to our storage requirements!

We've had a great start to the year with regards to funding, with some fortunate donations coming through to us. As surplus supplies from M&S are not as plentiful right now, having some extra funds allows us to boost our bags as appropriate.

Thank you to the Immaculate Conception Church and New Kilpatrick Church for their amazing contributions that have boosted our New Year and getting it off to a great start. Thank you also, to The Archdiocese of Glasgow for the donation they made to us just before Christmas. There simply aren't enough words to convey our thanks to everyone who has donated either food or cash - but, heartfelt thanks from us all 💚

Good chilly morning everyone. We're catching up our 'thanks' for some fantastic donations we received over the past few weeks and beyond.
Firstly, we were extremely blessed to receive vouchers just before Christmas from a group of friends and family who save together to give us vouchers that can be spent in Jaconelli Chip shop (the Avenue) and Blackadder Butchers Maryhill. Thank you to everyone who contributed towards these vouchers - Chris, Malcolm, Alan, Martin, Scott, Stevey, Big Si, Big Al, Angie, Alice and Frances, and to the team at Jaconelli and Blackadders. We've been so fortunate to get these vouchers for the past few years, and it's such a delight to pass them on to families in need.

Our next big thanks goes to John Morton and the staff and customers of the Dolphin Bar, Partick, who have raised funds for us for the past couple of years. Last week John popped into see us with a gift of £500. Thank you so much!!

And last but by no means least, an enormous thanks to the 'anonymous' 😉 donors who bought us a new chest freezer as our old faithful had given up on us.

We are continually humbled by the sheer generosity of our donors and friends, we simply couldn't do this without you all.

Thank you for supporting us, always 🙏💚
