📚✨ Celebrating Arabic Books and Readers at Elderpark Library! ✨📚

We are delighted to celebrate the creation of a new **Arabic reading corner at Elderpark Library an exciting step towards making Arabic books and reading more accessible to the community in Glasgow. ❤️📖

This journey started with Together Reaching Higher (TRH) reaching out to Elderpark Librar with the idea of creating a welcoming space where Arabic-speaking children, young people and adults could find and enjoy books in their own language.

We are incredibly grateful for the warm welcome, openness and understanding we received from the library team. They listened to the community's needs and worked with us to make the idea a reality.

As part of this collaboration, TRH provided a suggested list of Arabic books, covering a range of interests and age groups. Thanks to the support and commitment of our partners, these books have now been purchased and are available in the library, creating a lovely and welcoming Arabic book corner for the community in , Scotland, UK. 🌍📚

We hope to continue working together to grow the collection, expand the Arabic reading space and encourage more families to discover the joy of reading**.

A huge thank you to:

💙 for welcoming our idea and working with us to create this space.
📚 Scottish Book Trust for supporting access to books and reading.
💙 Glasgow Live for supporting inclusive library services and cultural diversity.
🤝 And everyone who helped turn this idea into something real for the community.

🌍 Creativity, Community and Connection: TRH at UNESCORIELA Spring School 2026

Creativity has the power to connect people, strengthen and create meaningful dialogue across and communities.
Together Reaching Higher (TRH) was proud to contribute to this year’s UNESCO RIELA Spring School 2026, joining , practitioners, organisations and participants from diverse backgrounds to explore this year's theme, The of , and how , culture and connection can support , and wellbeing. .

TRH facilitated a creative workshop using drawing, recycled materials, paper activities and hands-on making. Through these activities, participants shared stories, exchanged cultural experiences and built new connections, demonstrating how simple creative approaches can foster reflection, encourage dialogue and strengthen community connections..

The Spring School was a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge, share community experiences and connect with researchers, practitioners and organisations working across different sectors. It highlighted the importance of bringing different perspectives together to explore creative approaches that support inclusive and resilient communities.

We are proud that our Wellbeing Cultural Hub - Calm Mind Project continues to create opportunities for people to connect, build confidence and strengthen wellbeing. We sincerely thank Glasgow Council for the Voluntary Sector (GCVS) for supporting this important community work.

A special thank you to the UNESCO RIELA team University of Glasgow for creating such an inspiring space for learning, connection and knowledge exchange.

At TRH, we believe lasting impact is created when creativity, community voices and shared learning come together to strengthen wellbeing, inclusion and a sense of belonging.

From Creativity to Opportunity at the Queen's Park Food Festival 🎨🍽️
At Together Reaching Higher (TRH), we believe the true impact of community investment is measured by the opportunities it creates for people to grow, connect and thrive.

We were proud to participate in the & program at the Queen's Park Food Festival , where two of our projects came together to showcase what is possible when people are given the right support.

Through our Creative Hands – Calm Mind project, funded by the Wellbeing Support Fund, participants proudly exhibited their handmade creations, sharing their creativity with the public and celebrating the confidence, wellbeing and personal growth they have developed throughout the project.

The festival also provided a valuable progression opportunity for two entrepreneurs from our Entrepreneurs Pathways Lab (Reemixify Boxes : "Where Ideas Bake Beautifully" and Good Globe)
, supported by the Fund. By engaging directly with customers and showcasing their products in a real marketplace, they gained practical experience, valuable feedback and increased confidence to continue developing their businesses.
This is what sustainable impact looks like creating pathways that move people from participation to progression, from creativity to confidence, and from ideas to enterprise.

A heartfelt thank you to the Wellbeing Support Fund, the Ecosystem Pathways Fund, and the fantastic Queen’s Park Food Festival team for creating an inclusive space where creativity, entrepreneurship and community could come together.

We look forward to continuing to create opportunities that empower individuals, strengthen communities and inspire lasting change.

🌱 This week, our Climate Resilience Champions completed Phase 1 of their training in Glasgow.

Over four workshops, participants developed the skills and confidence to lead climate conversations within their neighbourhoods. They explored climate science, climate justice, facilitation, and wellbeing, and learned how to turn lived experience into meaningful community evidence.

Building Resilience, Building Community: Empowering Vulnerable Communities for Climate Action is a collaborative community research programme delivered by Together Reaching Higher in partnership with the University of Strathclyde, with funding from the MACC Hub Flexible Fund.

A special thanks to Fingland, SCVO for delivering an engaging and interactive workshop that further strengthened our Champions' confidence to lead climate conversations within their communities.

Next, our Champions will move into Phase 2, leading community conversations that will help identify local climate risks and co-produce community-led adaptation strategies and solutions within their neighbourhoods.
