🌱 Seed saving at The Hidden Gardens

As summer comes to an end, we’re harvesting seeds from plants across The Gardens, carefully collecting and storing them so they can be grown again next year.

Seed saving helps us preserve the plants we grow, supporting healthy varieties and connecting us from one season to the next.🌱

When you visit The Gardens and see these 'gone-to-seed' plants, know that they are precious and being grown for their harvest... It just takes a little time until they are ready to collect!

The Hidden Gardens is free to visit, with accessible pathways throughout and full of surprises 🌻

🌳Listen to the Gingko with Deepwood by Mechanimal at The Hidden Gardens, part of the Sonica art and sound festival.

Deepwood lets us hear a world we might never otherwise experience. By attaching biosensors to a living tree, artists Tom Bailey and Xavier Velastin transform tiny changes within the tree into sound. 🎧 You put on the headphones, move around the tree and listen closely.

The performance is free, but ticketed. To find out more head over to Glasgow

Sonica Glasgow is Scotland’s leading 11-day biennial festival of audiovisual art and experimental music, produced by Cryptic. For over a decade, Sonica has presented pioneering work at the intersection of sound, image and architecture, transforming venues across Glasgow into immersive environments that challenge and inspire audiences.

This is a great opportunity to listen and experience our beautiful Gingko in a different way. 🌿

🦋🐛Surveying Moths in The Hidden Gardens 🐛🦋

Overnight traps use light to attract moths who can be safely surveyed without harming them. Thanks to Maisie Black who has been coming to The Gardens over the summer, gathering survey data on the moth species who visit.

Biodiversity is a central pillar of the work we do in The Hidden Gardens, and surveying is an important part of understanding the ecosystem we are part of.
