A somewhat confusing article from The Guardian

The research paper linked in the article discusses a North Andean tree frog (Dendropsophus norandinus) and not a Lynch's Colombian tree frog (Hyloscirtus lynchi). The latter is critically endangered and was rediscovered recently after 36 years.

The picture in the article is of a European tree frog (Hyla arborea), which is unsurprisingly native to a different continent.
