****PERMANENT CLOSURE******
It is with great sadness that we announce the impending closure of the Community Pantry. This is not a decision we’ve taken lightly, and certainly does not reflect a reduction in poverty levels or families struggling with food and fuel insecurity in the local area - rather is reflective of unsustainable rent increases (40%) and lack of appropriate funding streams. We know this will be devastating to our service users and it is not a decision we’ve taken lightly, especially given the local council’s distinct lack of acknowledgment of the struggles our families face daily - and indeed, the very real value and impact the project has made over the years. However, we would like to take this opportunity of thanking the Church of the Nazarene for providing us with a home over the last few years.
We are determined to keep trading and providing services for our clients until 31st May 2025, and will obviously update the situation regularly.
In the meantime, please continue to visit our project and help save nutritious food going to waste through landfill - we still encourage you to keep being Zero Heroes!!!!
Please be assured - We are working tirelessly to identify suitable alternative provision for the families who utilise our service.
