Geez A Gi

Geez A Gi Making Martial Arts Accessible We are a grant giving charity, offering financial support to further
its charitable purposes.

Geez A Gi' is a charity set out to provide access to Martial Arts classes across the UK by means of subsiding, and in some cases eradicating, the cost of necessary uniform and equipment needed to train. The name 'Geez A Gi' was chosen as it encompasses; the aim of the Christie's purpose, of giving all participants access to a uniform, highlights the Scottish origins of the charity, and is a slight

linguistic humour in that it is a homophone. The Charity's purposes are: the advancement of public participation in sport, and the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. These purposes are in line with section (h) and (n), respectfully, of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005. To achieve this purpose, the organisation will seek to;
1) Provided access to Martial Arts clubs, organisations, and classes, by providing the individual with the mandatory uniform and equipment necessary to do so.
2) Highlight the need for this charity, and charities like it, within the local community and Martial Arts community as a whole.
3) Work alongside government initiatives to promote public health and participation in sport.
4) Liaise with Martial Arts clubs, organisation and classes to educate coaches and instructors on the barriers that may be faced by their current and potential client base, and promote the usage of our charity to further the above purposes.

Athlete Development Program

Last night was a special night for Geez A Gi as our current Chairman Matthew Law visited Welsh Ambassador Samantha Hunt's club P.M.A.A Llangennech 🥊 for the first time.

He witnessed a fantastic grading, and a club that's definitely got the welcoming familial feeling he thinks every club should have. "The participants old and young, and their parents, spoke so highly of Sam, and she should be very proud of her wee club."

Matt also met Lola Beynon for the first time and was able to finally present her with her Athlete Development Program Certificate, officially welcoming her to the Geez A Gi family. "Lola is a very funny, and talented martial artist, it's been a pleasure for us to follow her career and have had a little part in it."

The nominations for the Athlete Development Program will open again on the 1st June 2026, if you'd like information on what this involves please visit our website geezagi.org or get in touch with us via email or messenger.
