We have fantastic news! 🤩

Throughout the last year, you will have seen us posting about planting days in Springburn to bridge the connection between greenspaces and aid the local biodiversity. Well, after planting 25,000 plug plants, 40kg of wildflower seeds, 20kg of yellow rattle seed and 1750 hedge whips across 6 sites in Springburn, the project is now complete!

We couldn't have done this project without all of our volunteers, corporate volunteers, local community and schools helping us! You truly made this projected and we loved working with you all. You braved the Scottish elements with us and inspired us to keep going on those dreich, cold days.

Free gardening course starting up at the Molly Weir Community Garden in Cowlairs (Endrick Street, G21 1ER). Starting Tuesday, 24th March, 10am till 12noon. Ten weeks introduction to gardening - working with plants, herbs, flowers and vegetables. Every Tuesday. No experience needed and a wee cuppa thrown into the bargain. All materials provided. !! Springburn Needs You !!

At our festival on Saturday, we got the opportunity to speak to Maureen Burke MP about the Pride in Place Funding which is coming to Glasgow.

Two communities in Glasgow will be chosen to receive £20 million each, over the next 10 years. With the money being spent to regenerate the local area, this included investment in everything from town centres and jobs to local parks and greenspace

We strongly believe that one of these communities should be Springburn !! , given the hard work and determination that the local community has put into regeneration work in recent years such as the Springburn Local Place Plan. This investment would allow for the transformation of Springburn, allowing everything from the high street being regenerated to the Winter Gardens being fixed and much more. However in order for Springburn to be chosen we need the area to complete the below survey saying that they want the money to be spent in the Springburn area.

Springburn needs a break when it comes to investment and it has been overlooked for far to long. So PLEASE take the time to fill in the attached survey (it shouldn't take longer than 3 minuets) and say that you believe the money should come to the Springburn area.

Thank you so much to everyone who came along to the Springburn Community Festival on Saturday, taking part in the activities available whether that was dancing to the performances, trying new foods, buying items from the market stalls, taking part in STEM activities or trying new sports we hope you had an amazing time.

We would like to thank Springburn Shopping Centre for allowing us to use their space to hold the event and to everyone who was involved in event organising and planning.
