Today we remember one of our own Peter Downie.

10 years have now passed since Peter was suddenly taken from his family and our ranks and enlisted into the Battalion of the dead.

Peter is proudly honoured amongst those Volunteers from Scotland who are no longer with us on the Scottish memorial on the Shankill Road and alongside those from 1st East Antrim in the Monkstown memorial garden.

Our thoughts as always are with Christine and Davie.

You will always be in our hearts and thoughts, our very special absent friend.

Tonight seen us make the short trip over the Erskine Bridge to support our friends in Paisley Somme Association

The vocal entertainment was fantastic especially with the nods to 1st East Antrim

Good to catch up with those ladies and gentlemen from Possilpark and Springburn Somme who joined us ๐Ÿ’•

The band Paisley Protestant Boys FB they are going upwards and a massive credit to them for the hard work they have put in over last 10 years ๐Ÿ‘

Good to see our pals from Leeds Somme Association support another one of our groups ๐Ÿ’™

Today saw us join with our fellow Scottish Somme Associations and visitors in participating in the 110th Anniversary Parade of the Battle of the Somme.

We would like to congratulate the 36th Ulster Division Memorial Committee on an excellent parade despite all the hurdles they had to overcome.

It was a fantastic sight to see the colours on parade, the ranks full, and to welcome guests over from Monkstown along with our friends from Blackpool joining us for the day.

A special thanks to the ladies for putting on the buffet for us returning to the Hillview Inn, and to the bar staff for ensuring everyone was kept well hydrated throughout.
