💻🦩 New Blog Post: 100 Years Young... 🦩💻

We’re delighted to announce that Dora, our centenary French student, has achieved a National 2 Qualification while living at Grange Lea Care Home 🥳

Dora has been attending classes regularly with our tutor Judith since the project first came to Grange Lea 11 blocks ago! She says: “When I was a schoolgirl, I was the only person who didn’t learn French. I always thought about learning a new language, and after so many years, I finally got the chance!” 🇫🇷

🦩🗳 Voting Now Open for the Scots Language Awards 🗳🦩

We are pleased to announce that we have been shortlisted for the Scots Language Awards 2026. We're nominated for the "Scots Community Project of the Year" for our brand new Scots Language project in care homes 🥳

This year we officially launched our Scots project in collaboration with the Open University, and so far it has been a great success. We’ve run 125 classes, reaching 132 people across 12 projects in the Borders, Greater Glasgow, West Lothian, South Lanarkshire and North Ayrshire, and have more in the works!

Our course is the first Scots course of its kind, also accessible for people living with dementia, and it’s designed for speakers and learners of Scots. Rather than purely focusing on language acquisition, it combines elements of language, history, geography, culture and more, in turn sparking feelings of reminiscence and unlocking childhood memories on a more personal level.

🇪🇸🦩 Class Check-In with TEA in the POT - Women's Support Service 🦩🇪🇸

Sending a massive congratulations to our lovely group from Tea in the Pot, a Govan-based charity supporting women in the local community for over 20 years 💗

They’ve been learning Spanish with our tutor Eva in various project over the past few years, and we're delighted to announce that Nancy, Jane and Christina just achieved their Nat 2, passing with flying colours! 🎉

It's really lovely to build connections with different organisations in our local community, learn about everyone's wonderful work and support each other in our various areas in making the local community a better place!
