Due to recent developments within the wider community, we feel it is important to be open and clear about the direction we are now taking.
Our priority has always been and will always remain the protection of children. That commitment extends to all children: our own, yours, and even those connected to the individuals we expose. Safeguarding is not selective, and it must never be compromised.
In recent times, we have witnessed a shift in the wider “hunting” environment. What should be serious safeguarding work has, in some cases, become driven by attention, reaction, and public spectacle. Reckless behaviour, including the sharing of sensitive information and the creation of unnecessary public scenes, has placed people at risk and undermined the integrity of this work.
We will not be part of that.
As a result, we are making immediate changes to how we operate.
To ensure the safety of our team and the protection of all those involved, ASA Scotland will no longer conduct live-streamed stings in real time. Any live footage will only begin once a sting has been safely concluded and the situation is under control. This approach allows us to minimise risk, reduce unnecessary exposure, and prioritise safeguarding above all else.
Where children are present at any location, all filming will cease immediately. No child should ever be placed at further risk for the sake of content and we will not allow that to happen.
Moving forward, much of our work will take place behind the scenes. This may give the impression that we are less active, but the reality is the opposite. The work continues carefully, professionally, and with the sole focus of achieving the right outcomes.
We will continue to release information responsibly. Arrests will still be made known, and outcomes will be shared with full footage published following conviction where appropriate. Our aim is accountability, not entertainment.
Due to ongoing concerns around safety, integrity, and the direction of the wider community, we are stepping back from that environment. We will continue to collaborate where standards align, but our focus will remain independent, controlled, and safeguarding-led.
We understand that not everyone will agree with these decisions. However, we stand by them without hesitation.
We would rather do this the right way than the popular way.
Our focus is protection not performance 🙏
We hope that all of our amazing supporter will understand this decision and continue to support us
