We had so much fun this Sunday kicking off our free community meals at the Whitehouse! We served over 35 meals and had some lovely chats, welcoming people from all over Maryhill and North Glasgow. Our menu, a greek bean stew, salad, and a wonderful school cake donated to us, was a big hit, and we know the next one will be too.

Thanks so much to everyone who came out, and if you couldn’t make it this time, we’re on every 2 weeks so join us for the next one on Sunday 9th August - see you there! 🍲

We are buzzing putting the final touches together for Sunday's first official community meal by The Maryhill's People Kitchenl! 🍲

We did a wee run of it at the open day and it was a massive success, and we couldn't have done it without PCT-St Nicholas Care Fund. Their super kind donation covered the oven, pots and pans, all the kitchen utensils, the lot. Massive thanks to them.

Can't wait to see you all Sunday!

This is what The Whitehouse looked like when we first got in. Empty for months over winter, so a bit damp, a bit dusty, just needed some gentle care.

Still, you could feel it had good bones, this place has been standing since around the 1790s after all.

Taking it slow and steady, still a bit to do, but over the next couple of weeks we'll start sharing some of the behind the scenes work our volunteers have been getting stuck into.

New thing kicking off at The Whitehouse. Maryhill People's Kitchen starts officially from next Sunday 26th July, every other Sunday from then on.

Open day was just a wee taster, this time it's the full thing. Turn up, no booking needed, get a plate of scran and a good blether in.

We're starting something new! A monthly Gaelic conversation circle, open to anyone who wants to come along and give it a go.

It might feel a bit daunting at first, but that's kind of the point. Beginners welcome.

Come and take a peek at Maryhill's oldest building as we open the doors as part of the 170 Years of Maryhill celebrations: Maryhill Is Wonderful!
