Meditation at The Whitehouse is back this Wednesday at 11am and honestly the group is really coming together.

Such a nice wee crowd building up week on week. Doesn't matter if you've never sat still for five minutes in your life or you've been meditating for years, everyone's welcome.

Just pop in, no need to book, no pressure at all. Come along and give yourself a bit of headspace 🧘

Great plan for Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival!

Come on in! We're taking part in Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival , 17th-20th September, across both Maryhill Burgh Halls and The Whitehouse Maryhill .

🏫Pop by any time during opening hours, catch a free building tour, or join our Maryhill Women's History Tour on Saturday (to book: https://linktr.ee/MBHT). The exhibition Every Picture Tells A Story is on throughout too.

🌊Saturday's also drop in day, science experiments, quizzes, and a chat with the Scottish Canals team about the canal, plus a listening afternoon gathering everyone's stories.

🏠The Whitehouse is open all weekend, just drop in, or join us for a scran at Maryhill People's Kitchen on Sunday.

Massive thanks to everyone who came along to the first litterpick this weekend! 🧹

The team got stuck in and collected 15 bags of rubbish AND 3 chairs from around the locks. Amazing effort from everyone who gave up their time.

Next one's already in the diary: Saturday 3rd October, 11:30am. All equipment provided, just come along, all welcome!

🧤 Litterpick tomorrow!!

Bit of a sad stat for you: litter and flytipping on the canal is up 67% in the last four years. Not great for the water, the green space, or the wildlife who live there.

So we're chuffed to be backing Keep The Nolly Swanky's monthly litterpicks, kicking off tomorrow. No need to sign up, just turn up.

And it's not a one off, we'll be doing this every month, first Saturday, same time same place.

On the menu: red lentil curry and rice, plus naan on the side. 🍲

Sunny Cycles usually just gather outside Maryhill Burgh Halls every Monday morning before heading off on their ride, canal paths and quiet roads around the north of the city. This week we got to host them properly, inside, for one of their meetings here at the Whitehouse!

If you don't know Sunny Cycles, they help people of all ages and abilities get out on a bike and build up confidence, honestly brilliant work. Good to finally have them in properly 🚲
