Lanarkshire Armed Service Advice, LASA, is a Citizens Advice Bureau specialist project serving members of the armed forces community.

It serves only members of the armed forces community.

Can assist with ‘civvy matters’ and can offer a generalist holistic CAB service, including Benefits, Debt and Money Advice the same as any CAB adviser.

Its specialist role is to enable veterans to access the specialist services and pensions/compensation schemes unique to those that have served in the military.

And, to ensure that they are being treated with ‘due regard’ under the legal duties of the Armed Forces Covenant.

What an amazing and enjoyable staff and volunteers lunch at The Cedarwood Bistro, Collette and her girls really looked after us and provided 1st class service 😍 Food was amazing, layout was lovely and we were all treated like royalty 👸 🫅 Thank you ladies for making our lunch extra special. If you are receiving certain DWP benefits and move to Scotland from England, Wales or Northern Ireland, you will need to reapply for financial support.

In Scotland:

➡️ Attendance Allowance has been replaced by Pension Age Disability Payment
➡️ DLA for adults has been replaced by Scottish Adult DLA
➡️ Personal Independence Payment has been replaced by Adult Disability Payment
➡️ Carer’s Allowance has been replaced by Carers Support Payment
➡️ DLA for children has been replaced by Child Disability Payment

To continue receiving support after moving to Scotland, you must urgently:

➡️ tell your current benefit provider about your move
➡️ apply to Social Security Scotland for the relevant benefit

If your child is aged between 2 years old and 3 years and 6 months old, then you could be entitled to Early Learning Payment.

It's a payment of £331.95 per child to help with the costs of early learning.

You can get this payment for multiple children, as long as each child is the right age when you apply.

If you receive Scottish Child Payment we will check to see if you are eligible for Early Learning Payment and pay you automatically.

You can spend this money on anything you need for your child at this age. This could include:

👕 clothes

🧸 toys

🗺️ trips to new places
