On Tuesday the team had coffee and weekly meeting to discuss all things youth work. At the racket the younger group went to the park and done a nature scavenger hunt. The older group had a massive quiz which got super competitive. Well done to Charlie, Leon and Luke for winning. For food we had breakfast for dinner which everyone loved. 🥰

On Wednesday the team sorted the last few bits for October. Kara came into the team office to help out. At Possil we played beach ball and played a few games of piggy in the middle followed by a quiz. Well done to Eva, Sofia, Prayer, Dorothy and Ezana for winning. We finished the day off with chicken burgers which were amazing. Thank you to Charlie and Kara for making them. 🤩

On Thursday Kendal came into the office to see us all then we all went to Lou for lunch which was so good. Tiegan, James and Caitlyn had October pre meet which went really well. Everyone is looking forward to the residential. 😊

JUST DO IT – PADEL 🎾

First JDI back after the summer, and what a way to start! 🙌🎾

A huge thank you to Soul Padel Braehead for a brilliant coaching session. We learned the rules of the game & picked up some new skills 🎾

A perfect session to kick things off — and it’s safe to say we have got some very keen padel players on our hands! 🎾👏

The good times just keep on coming from theGKexperience Headquarters 🙌🏻💜

The racket enjoyed some den building, baking, pickleball, finished off with a top tier homemade KFC 🤝 The den building survived Tiegans water test… however she did not survive AJs water test 😂

The possil crew was back with a bang 💥 we had all of our faves back after their travels, it was so good to hear about all their adventures over the summer 💜

Shoutout to our gal Kendal for paying us a lovely visit in the office, always bringing the good vibes and keeping us in check 🫡

Last but not least…. One of our faves Donnie who works with our partners St Matthews’s returned from his travels. If you scroll to the end you’ll see him with a pal 🐪 welcome back Donnie boy! 👏🏻 ☀️

We’ve throughly enjoyed being back seeing all of our brilliant young people, and even better have so many new faces joining us each week!

Over and out ✅💜

First week back at our local groups this week! 💜

This week, our focus was reflecting on our local groups as a team, understanding what we do well and identifying things we can improve on.

We then asked the young people for their thoughts and ideas to help us plan the next block of sessions. Some great ideas and we are all really looking forward to getting back to it!

Caitlyn & James have started their PDA in Youth Work course with Youth Scotland while Calum and Tiegan have been busy with one-to-one mentoring.

We missed everyone over the summer and are glad to be back to business as usual at the GK HQ! 💜

Hello! GK is hosting a golf fundraiser in September over in sunny Largs. We are looking for businesses that would sponsor a hole for £50 which would help cover the costs of the event, meaning we could raise as much money as possible for all the amazing activities we get up to. The business would get their logo and contact information displayed at a tee box on the day. We have 72 golfers already signed up, all who would see your info. Comment below or send us a message if you are interested or know anyone that might help! Please share with anyone that you know would be up for it! Thanks!
