WOULD YOU SUPPORT A PROPER FLY-TIPPING STRATEGY FUNDED BY BOTH THE UK & SCOTTISH GOVERNMENTS?🛑🧹

Glasgow’s communities,GMB trade union, and residents are speaking with one voice: Our city is NOT a dumping ground!

We need joint action and real financial backing from both governments to:
💰 Fund dedicated council cleansing teams on the ground
⚖️ Crack down hard on fly-tipping and commercial waste abuse
📍 Keep our streets, lanes, and neighbourhoods safe and clean

No more passing the buck—it’s time to fund our frontline services and Reclaim the Lanes! ✊✨

Drop a "YES" in the comments if you back a fully funded Fly-Tipping Strategy for Glasgow!👇

GLASGOW IS NOT A DUMPING GROUND! 🛑🧹

Our communities, workers, and residents deserve a city that is clean, safe, and vibrant.

We’ve had enough talk and empty promises. The Fly-tipping Strategy must now come into force immediately! No more legal loopholes, no more neglected lanes, and no more leaving our neighbourhoods to suffer. ⚖️📍

When trade unions and residents stand shoulder-to-shoulder, real change happens!

Solidarity always!✊✨

FANTASTIC SOLIDARITY IN GLASGOW!✊💥

Residents from the Woodlands area joined forces with workers and GMB Glasgow Branch 40 in a powerful protest to demand real action on these critical issues!

When our communities stand side-by-side with union workers, we speak with one unstoppable voice. The message to Glasgow City Council is crystal clear: Our neighbourhoods will NOT become dumping grounds! 🛑🧹

We need:
📜 The motion on lanes passed through committee immediately!
🚛 Proper council-run waste and cleansing services
⚖️ Strict enforcement against fly-tipping and commercial waste abuse

Safety, health, and clean streets shouldn't be trapped behind legal loopholes. It's time to back our workers, stand with our residents, and Reclaim the Lanes! 🤝✨

One week to go until the Commonwealth Games hit Glasgow! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏆

But while the eyes of the world are on our city, should we really be showing off the "Commonwealth Lanes"? 🤨 Or are we going to let visitors see the neglected, overgrown, and unlit spaces that our workers and communities deal with every day?

We don't just need words—we need action. We need the motion on these lanes to be formally passed through the council committee so real change can finally happen.

Come on, Glasgow City Council—let's get this sorted! It's time to take responsibility and Reclaim the Lanes! 🧹✨

In just two weeks, the Commonwealth Games are coming to Glasgow! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏆

Local families should be able to go, fill the stands, and support the athletes. Unfortunately, the organisers are pricing everyday families right out of the event.

With tickets for a family of four costing over £300 for many main events (and athletics medal events reaching up to £150 per adult), these prices are completely unaffordable for normal working people. Even a family trip to the opening ceremony at the Hydro costs over £330! ❌

The First Minister needs to intervene and put a price drop in place right away. Let's make sure the people of Glasgow aren't locked out of their own Games! 📢✊

Wins like this don't just happen by accident—they show exactly why being in a trade union matters! ✊ When workers stand together under the GMB banner, we have the collective power to secure jobs, protect services, and demand better conditions.

At the heart of this fight is our Branch Convenor. The Convenor is the vital bridge between the shop floor and senior management—the person who stands up, negotiates the tough deals, and ensures your voice is heard where it matters most. From organizing campaigns to protecting your rights, the Convenor’s leadership is what drives the branch forward and delivers real results like these 21 new posts. 📣👤

If you aren't a member yet, there has never been a better time to join. Stand with us, support your union, and let’s keep cleaning up the city together! 🤝

🌡️ Hot weather isn’t just uncomfortable — it’s a workplace safety issue.

As temperatures rise, so do the risks ⚠️ Dehydration, heat exhaustion, sunburn, fatigue and heat stroke can all lead to serious illness or accidents — indoors and outdoors.

Employers have a legal duty to protect staff by providing:

✅ Regular breaks
💧 Access to cold drinking water
🦺 Suitable clothing and PPE
🌳 Shade for outdoor workers
🌬️ Good ventilation and cooling indoors

Know the warning signs 🚨 Dizziness, headaches, cramps, nausea, confusion and extreme tiredness.

If the heat is affecting your safety at work, speak up ✊ Contact your manager, GMB rep or safety representative.

Everyone deserves a safe and healthy workplace — whatever the weather 💪
