Medway Watersports Centre Medway Watersports Trust’s charitable objectives are to provide watersports for the youths and young

Medway Watersports operates from its own site at The Strand, Gillingham and we use the public slipway to enter the tidal river Medway. Medway Watersports is approved by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA)and Canoe England (BCU) as a training centre offering a wide range of accredited courses for young people.

We were so very proud and honoured to received our King's Award for Voluntary Service from The Lord Lieutenant of Kent, Lady Colgrain, this morning in a short presentation followed by a walk around and chat with our volunteers. Thank you also to our guests for taking time out of their busy day to attend, it was great to see you join in with our celebrations and to share some stories over tea and cake!

The Trustees and volunteers would like to say a big Thank You to Bob Walker for holding the role of RYA Chief Instructor for the last 3 years. Bob’s last day in the role is tomorrow 31st December but he will still be with us as a Trustee and RYA Senior Instructor and will be at the Centre taking sailing sessions as normal.
Bob Oakley is taking over the role of Chief Instructor with effect from 1st January 2026.
We are all looking forward to the 2026 season!
